What is the best deal on Eneloop these days. Is it Eneloop, Laada, Duraloop, etc.
Or some other LSD batteries like Energizer Recharge which I currently use and are amazing, made in Japan.
So far it seems like Laada @ $10 for 4 AA, $2.50 each.

It looks like Ladda is cheaper than Eneloops.
I would choose the 1900 mAh version for Ladda cells.
I don’t know how the 2450mAh performs vs regular Eneloops.
I get Eneloops from either Amazon or eBay because I don’t live near an Ikea, and I choose the 2000mAh ones because they perform best.

Duraloops that are made in Japan are probably tough to find.
(I think they’re only made in China now.)
They used to be a good deal compared to Eneloops (many years ago), but I don’t know about now.

There’s an Ikea like 80 miles away from me and theyll ship to me for super cheap, like $4. Probably depends on region. Something to check out if you don’t have one close by. Maybe they’ll ship to you

Amazon wants a ridiculous amount of $$$ for eneloops here, it’s insane. But energizers are like that too. Like $10 per battery. Laddas are the way to go

Yeah, I don’t understand why so many things are more expensive in Canada compared to the U.S.
I’m guessing that economies of scale and “government differences” are a couple of reasons, but I don’t know for sure.
Probably some dumb a?s tariffs.
LADDA 2450mAh AA are about half the price of eneloop pro AA (Amazon S&S) locally.
The exchange rate is not favorable right now. In addition to taxes etc. One Canadian dollar is only worth $0.73 US dollars.
Ya, that’s for sure part of it. But even when the dollar was around 1:1, like it was from the mid-2000s to mid-2010s, everything still cost more. If you lived near the border you’d drive to the US just to get gas a tank of gas and drive back. Maybe pick up a few groceries. If you had a bunch of shopping to do, like around Christmas, or back to school, or a big purchase or w/e, you’d drive over too. Everything was still half the price over the border
Ya that’s part of it too. It’s a whole bunch of things. Don’t get me started lol. Sales taxes are higher, cost of doing business is higher, the market is smaller. So if you’re a company why spend all the money to bring your stuff to the Canadian market and meet Canadian regulations to sell to Canadian consumers when, like I said above, Canadian consumers are going to the US to do their shopping anyways. So high barriers to entry and not really a huge payoff to doing so. Less companies moving here, less companies starting here, less competition, more monopolies. The few companies that actually are here can charge whatever they want, there’s no alternative.

How do the Ladda compare to Eneloops over time? I’ve got some 10yo AA Eneloops that are still working fine.
I notice the Ladda 2450mAh they can be recharged up to 500 times (or 1900mAh 1000 times), the standard Eneloops 2000mAh are up to 2100 times.
I dont think anyone will come close to 500 charge cycles for one AA battery in one hunan lifetime.
Although true story. I found an AA Maglite in a drawer that I completely forgot I owned. The light must have been 20 years old. In it were Eneloops that not only still worked but performed almost like new.

Eneloop’s on Amazon are negligibly more expensive at $2.97 each for 16. Does not pay to gamble with anything else.
Costco used to sell eneloops, not now a days. Around Thanksgiving 10 pack batteries used to cost 14.99 after coupon.
I saw energizer batteries made in Japan much smaller pack 4 AA, 2 AAA and charger in local costco in Philadelphia. Should go on sell around Thanksgiving.
Are energizers bit heavy compared to eneloops 2000 mah? Any good review links?
We’re really not talking a lot of difference in money, unless one is buying in 100 ct. bulk packs.
Eneloops are a bit cheaper than Fujitsu NiMH AA/AAAs if you can even find them, but then we’re talking only a few bucks US, for a quad pack. Hardly worth taking a risk on Chang’s Spicy #12 off the menu.

I’ve got a remote temperature/ humidity sensor in the roof cavity of the house with 2 x AA Eneloops in it. They went flat about 2 years ago and I haven’t been up in the roof to retrieve them. It gets extremely hot up there in Summer. I don’t know what the odds will be of them working again.
I all depends on what their useful charge cycle definition is too. e.g. 75% capacity left, 50% capacity?
Some of my older Eneloops have started to develop some high internal resistance. A couple I’ve deemed no longer useful and put aside.
