im looking for the best general purpose clip on diffuser…
i know theres the solarforce lantern attachment but from what ive seen its too bulky and diffuses light in a radial pattern and not so much of a 360 degree light. im assuming the fenix ad502 diffuses light somewhat similarly but i havent found a single review.
the above 2 fenix diffusers seem to fit without modification. can anyone confirm how well they fit and work? i hardly see any reviews or opinions on the fenix diffusers. solarforce makes a diffuser tip but is more expensive and usually comes in a set with orange and white.
ive also bought some diffuser film from a member here and it works well but i want a clip on camping diffuser. his diffuser film works GREAT for a floody worklight though. creamy, even pattern thats very easy on the eyes.
last one i tried was the soft silicone tip which loses a lot of lumens and changes the color of the beam to a ringy yellow. definitely wouldnt recommend the soft diffuser tips. gotta be PC plastic
any opinions or any other options that people know of? thanks in advance!
I own this one, works very well. But now that you mention it, I only use it with my L2P with the WW XP-G drop in, so I can’t tell you if it changes the colour of a CW emitter. Unfortunately I don’t have access to most of my lights (including that one) for another week, otherwise I could have told you.
I really like the Fenix flip top diffuser, it can be flipped up out of the way when not needed and flipped down just as easily. It has not problem fitting over the L2P’s head and it diffuses the light pretty well and also if I compare the total output on a ceiling bounce test with diffuser and without light loss is negligible, unlike many other types where you lose a significant amount of output when using the diffuser.
