My high drain cells give me more output in basically every light I have, most of them stock.
For example: Eagtac G25C2 MKII, with fully charged, protected 3400mAh Eagtac cells, that have been used quite a while, I hardly get over 2 amp at the tail, pop in fully charged LG HE4, I get nearly 3 amp… With XinTD C8 V4 I see similar results.
So if I were to put IMRs in an Ace beam K40M i’ll get increased output? I’m currently using NCR18650B which means I’m not getting the best out of the emitter?
Sorry, I don’t know the answer to your question. What I should have mentioned: all of my lights are single cell ones. Maybe IMRs would give you a little more output, but I doubt that it would be that significant.
EDIT: jmpaul was quicker and I think he knows better than me.
I am thinking that my AWT IMR 3000mah 20A Cont./ 35A Pulse batteries are LG Batteries. Sal from Orbtronic told me the AWT IMR 2500mah version is an LG HE2 cell.
I believe the - 18650 3000mah max 20A INR18650HG2 LG Chem 3.6V imr18650 battery that was recently released is used in my AWT IMR 3000mAH!
If so, I believe it is the Best IMR available!
However, if you use HKJ’s comparator you will see that the AWT IMR 2500mAh has LESS of a voltage sag at every amp reading. Not just better than Efest, better than Samsung, LG HE2[K’power] and as good or better than VTC5 until 20A!
Somehow I do NOT think that[C”R”apolini] is a TYPO[!] considering your history on CPF with me and others and the location of the “R” key in relation to the “C” and “A” keys.
Looking to pick up a couple of high drain cells.
Are the AWT IMR 3000mAh better performing than the AWT IMR 2500mAh?
I do like the red label design of the AWT IMR 3000mAh.
I’m curious about these AWT cells
You mention that the AWT 2500 has the LG HE2 inside.
On HKJ’s comparator I tested the AWT 2500 against LG HE2 and the AWT did better.
Maybe HKJ got a poor sample of the LG HE2 or a really good sample of the AWT 2500 or a bit of both?
Could you possibly ask on AWT facebook page if their 2500 is an LG HE2?
Thanks
There is NO confirmation that the AWT is the LG HE2. That is what Sal from Orbtronics told me but AWT on Facebook denies that! Sorry for the confusion!
Your right, the AWT does better than the HE2. Also as I previously mentioned it does better than the efest, LG[K’Power], Samsung 25R and as good or better than the VTC5 until 20A.
As far as the AWT IMR 3000mah being better than the 2500mah version, not sure. I can tell you the run time is slightly BETTER on my M2Xvn or whatever else I use it in.
Example: M2Xvn: After 20 minutes w/ the AWT 2500mah version the voltage is 3.63V. 20 Minutes With the 3000mAh version it is 3.76V which is higher than 15 minutes [3.71V] W/ the 2500mAh! Basically your getting ~ 5 more minutes of run time! Performance seems to be the same which is VERY good!
I have asked AWT and I am still waiting. I doubt VERY, VERY much if they will tell me. they have NOT revealed it to anyone else, doubtful they will to me!
Because of the comparator I never believed it was an LG HE2 CELL,BUT Sal convinced me for a few hours!
My initial guess which I am NOW going back to is its a SONY cell!
