Best thrower for 40 usd

I’m search a light that will trhower more than my current C8 2,5 Amp. XP-L HI
I need an host with big reflector,good performance at stock driver and led,but easy to upgrade in future,and
multiple battery options. Except the L2 there is any better for 40 usd?

Difficult

D1s is compact thrower with nice UI
L2 is somewhat larger and will probably outthrow D1s, but needs some modding to perform even better.

You think that’s thin try one with a dedomed xpg2. Had to take it out and put dedomed xpl v6 back in

Why not put a fet driver and dedomed xpg2 in your current c8. Can have both for like 15 dollars. I have one with the new version xpg2 and I sent to a member for testing and it gets 800 yards of throw. Nice tight beam. That led in a l2 was to tight for my use

If you wanted to go the “upgrade” route with the C8 you have , here is what a Thorfire C8 with stock emitter and driver looks like , compared to what it looks like after changing to FET driver and XP-L HI V3 3C in the same light……Pictures taken at 175 yards from the big tree…………………

Look at reviews for Sofirn C8 in A or T model (cold/warm white)
I believe some are bringing it out with 35/50.2/70.2 pills with drivers to match.

Very few will match them at the price.
I bought a Imalent DN35 for my small thrower. (Code = $46 USD del to Aust.)
Along with my assorted 3 x C8’s. (Q5/XM-L2 hi/ and Sofirn T Model)
With a Convoy L6 for serious.
I’d never want. Never mind SEE further than that throws.
Though some nowadays are unbelievable.

Unless you want a change in Physical format.
the C8 will give all you’ll ever want. INCLUDING triples.

Look at that new format head C8 with a 35 or 70.2 dedomed in there?..
That’d be interesting?.

You lucky if living in States/Canada. you live among all the brilliant modders.
Here in Aust we either fumble round ourselves. or pay a fortune in freight to get anything done.

Happy Birthday Macka. And happy Father’s Day as well to those here it applies to.

MRsDNF lives in Australia Macka and he’s an excellent modder. He has a special talent, if you ask me, you might give him a shout next time you need to seriously mod a light (or a 12 pack)

The Utorch UT02 is nice as well, Lumintop has a variation on it but I’m not sure about the price. Decently compact and nice output/throw from the XHP-35.

The D1s is a serious contender and quite small to boot, although it’s head diameter may proclude it from true pocket carry.
