I’m new to flashlights and I want a really good thrower.
Iv only got a trustfire tr-j18 and its more of a flooding light.
How much you want to spent?
Up to around 70

Thrunite TN31 is your best bet for ~ 100$.
HD2010 like Heggood said. And then have one of the guys on here mod it for you. Spent about 90 on mine (with all of the mods) and I haven’t found anything that will come close to it for the price.

Yes, just PM him and tell him you want a modded thrower and he will reply. It will most likely throw farther than you can see and the majority of folks don’t need anything better than that, so it’s about the best bang for the buck. No reason to spend big money when it’s not necessary, IMO.
It says it’s unavailable atm. Is it better than thos modded ones from that guy?

The HD2010 or Small Sun T08 Modified will out throw the TN31 in stock form which is linked above and they are smaller and lighter. The TN31 is a better quality build and has a nice UI, but that comes with a bigger price tag. There’s plenty of other modders on this forum, I suggested 18sixfifty just because I know he probably has one ready to go since he’s always modding and selling.
Hi Cameron - as another New Zealander I can help you here. If you want a top thrower easily available in NZ get one of these:
We use heaps of them here for hunting because of v good throw. They have had alot of BLF input to make them top performers for the $$ and stock now produce 112-122k lux or about 700m throw. Get one and give it to me here in NZ and we’ll dedome it it and this jumps it to 240-250k lux and about 1 kilometer max throw.
Very well made, sound quality lights. If you want a lighter (270gm) model eg for scope mounting get this one - 93k lux now at about 650m throw standard:
This is a steal on a very high quality light and the shipping is free. The control ring is super nice. HD2010 for cheap at $22 on sale to $35 normal price is good but is nowhere near the light of a TN31.
Yo8 being modded…?I have one with Un the mtg2 modded by relic38 and as much as I love it its hard pressedan tothrow beyond 200 yards.

I agree with maxtoch 2x being the best value thrower at this price.
Thrunite TN31 will out throw the Maxtoch 2X. The Thrunite was originally $160 to $180 but is marked down because they have a newer model. The Maxtoch is always $75, that’s the normal price. The Maxtoch is also very long and less handy. You will love the control ring on the Thrunite, much easier than reaching all the way to the back of a long light. The Maxtoch also has the batteries in series which is more dangerous if you not experienced with lithium ion batteries. The HD2010 is also a great thrower for $25 to $35, it comes with a very good driver and if you want more throw a dedome is very simple. Place led in gasoline for a few hours and your done.
The Olight sr51 should perhaps also be considered?
