what are some of the better built and performing 1 or 2x 18650 flashlights in the 30usd range?
Can i do better than the Keygos ke-5?
I would prefer a largehead xml type light with a fwd switch…but a fwd click is not a must.
Thx again!
Are you looking for something floody, or a thrower ?
$29.95 USD in Cool White is under $30 and is outstanding.

I only like 1 x 18650 so I'd suggest the XinTD C8
No idea about 2 x 18650, I don't pay any attention to them.
I would have said a L2 with a MF UF drop in if you weren't looking for a large head. Are you looking for a thrower?
Beat me to it.
so you guys think that c8 would be better than a ke-5?
I don’t want a pure thrower…something for all around use i suppose…but i still want good throw. That’s why i’m looking for a larger head xml light.
Thanks!
I don't own a Keygos but from what I can tell the parts used and fit and finish are far better with the XinTD.
There are several threads about each of them.
A smooth reflector C8 of any brand will have lots of throw but with lots of spill. It is a great all-around light with the XM-L led.
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=290664015201&cmd=VIDESC&index=6&nav=SEARCH&nid=68482098017… I got mine with pressure switch for just under 30. I like this one a lot. Looks better than the standard c8 also
i have a dry 3xml and uf2100 on order so on second thought im looking for more of a thrower, that also has some good useable spill aswell, without hazing out the visibilty of the hotspot at longer ranges.
Im leaning towards the romisen light right now since shiningbeam has such a high reputation and the romisen seems very well built and therefor probably more dependable. But i am open to more suggestions
+3, well made host, excellent driver, your choice of tints and modes, and it is a nice thrower.
hmm well, according the seller’s specs, that C8 head is 1mm wider than that of the romison, so shouldnt it throw just as well? Wait…how hard is that intl-od C8 driven? How big of a brightness difference is there between the cw and nw versions? And approx. how much farther should the suggeted light throw farther than the dry? Now that i have sime floody lights xml’s, i’m looking some something much throw-ier lol
I really do appreciate the help’ guys
I'm looking for something VERY similar so I don't want to open up a new thread but continue here.
So what I want is an super-budget XM-L single 18650 thrower with a large head for around 20 bucks (max. 30). I have the Ultrafire C8 and had a Trustfire P7 (both XM-L), also recently ordered a Trustfire C8 but haven't revieved it yet.
My demands are maximum output, decent construction.
I just want the light as ready present for "just in case" needed. I really like the Ultrafire C8 (I mean for 20 bucks its great IMO) but maybe I'm missing something similar with WAY better quality for not much more.
This is a little over budget but it's about the cheapest you'll get an XML thrower
If it must be cheaper and you want throw look at xr-e, such as the ultra Ok

My 2 cents..;) The C8 might or might not be better than the Ke-5. However, the Ke-5 is selling for 2/3rds the price. Got to factor that in there.. ;) Ke-5 going for $19.?? with free shipping... I think the C8 is going for $29.??
I can stand a correction too. ;)
To someone who already owns a floodyer light, I'd also suggest the UltraOK:

The beam is impressive, the hotspot isn't too tight, perfect for up to 100m. Unexpensive, but definitely not junk. About the same quality as the rest of my budget lights.

I fully agree, I think of this light as being in the same class as the Sipik SK-68...lots of bang for the buck, decent quality construction too.
I don't have some of the lights listed above and I have three Citipower lights on the way that would fall in to your price specifications but I don't know about them yet. However, I got this light on Saturday and it's the best light I have under $30 period. http://www.shiningbeam.com/servlet/the-113/**NEW**-Romisen-RC-dsh-T601-II/Detail
It quenches my thirst for throw in a single cell 18650 light. Not up to par with my Olight M3X or Fenix TK41 much better than any of my other lights including my Jetbeam BC40 which uses two cells and has 830 lumens.
Ok, I'll hitch a hike on this question. I want a T6 thrower and was decided to buy this:
http://www.kaidomain.com/product/details.S020144
and now I see the more expensive
http://www.intl-outdoor.com/xintd-c8-xml-850-lumens-multi-modes-flashlight-p-308.html
so my question is: is the Intl Outdoor version worth it? Because it's 50% more expensive...

It depends what you prefer.
I hate PWM and strobes in mode cycle, so I would cough up happily 10$ more for an C8 without those.
You have also option to select what modes you want and choose tint. Heat management is better also, see pics from interiors.
If you want just to try C8 form and size and don´t mind modes or PWM etc, get the cheaper one and save that 10$ to your next one :)

Having owned 3 C8's, I would gladly pay 50% more for known better quality. The XINTD looks like a winner and those that have bought it really like it so far.
