The Good

BG Micro’s latest newsletter still lists the Panasonic CR123 Industrial batteries for 75 cents each in quantity 10 or more. No free shipping but their shipping is reasonable if you buy enough to lower the per battery cost.

The Bad

Claimed 6000 mAh UltraFire 26650 Lithium Ion battery for $10.49 each. I emailed them warning that the capacity was likely to be a total lie and we pretty much know about UltraFire quality and counterfeits that are even worse than the genuine items.

Billy at BG Micro said in a reply email that he has removed the UltraFire batteries from the web site until he can get them tested. Sounds like a good company and my experience with them has been good.

I’ll see if I can get a couple from him and give them the evil eye.

His CR123’s are the real deal…

I showed him the DX listing for what looks like the same battery and pointed out that per DX the real capacity is about 3000 mAh. I also linked to the fake 18650 wrappers thread here, which he found very educational. :open_mouth:
