Black friday ... my ass

Since when does Europe or any other country besides the USA celebrate Black Friday? It is always the Day after Thanksgiving which is an American Holiday.

Maybe I am missing something? Then again I never cared or participated in Black Friday.

Nearly 20 different countries have now implemented a Black Friday sale of their own: Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Russia, India and Pakistan all celebrate Black Friday on their own soil. Actually each year it seems like a few more countries jump on the sale wagon.

I guess the rest of the world likes to be like Americans!!!

i also think with aliexpress, it is the tariffs.

all super cheap stuff seems to have gone up about a dollar

Saw quite a few really good deals on Amazon. Flashlights and what not. Nothing I needed or would really use, so I passed. I don’t shop at any local stores today. I don’t play well in crowds of people too busy on their phones or rushing to a good deal on isle 63. I did find a good deal on an iPhone for my daughter on Walmart’s site. About $50 cheaper than I could find it anywhere else. Can’t complain really. I do very little shopping for the holidays. I don’t celebrate Xmas so I only buy what I have to to keep the kids happy. Anyone else will be hard pressed to get me to their Xmas party or expect a gift from me. Seeing a bunch of family that I haven’t seen since last year isn’t really my idea of a good time.

I do need some toilet paper and trash bags so I guess I have to go somewhere today. I’d order it online if it wasn’t kind of a must have right now kind of item.

LOL, no AMAZON wants the world to be like America - they started it all off over here, like sheep the other retailers followed (had to really). Then it was ‘cyber Monday’ and now it’s black week lol.
What will be next I wonder? Turquoise Tuesday, White Wednesday, Teal Thursday…… maybe? :person_facepalming: Singles day is even starting to spread over here!

So far, all the flyers that came in the mail are offering BF prices that are higher than their throughout the year sale prices of

just about anything and everything. Can't believe so many people thinking they are getting some type of great deal. I've

had my eye on a mattress set deal that I got a few months ago for $199 which is now going for the BF "special" price

of $399.

It just proves that big business runs the world. You can’t get rapid agreements and results from governments but if there’s money to be made business will swoop in.

Can also happen that products get cheaper after the sale period! 10 days before, many sellers set up the prices, and then with discounts, the coupons become invalid. Usually you get only $1-2 Usd better prices. Though you can find some good deals if you know where and what to look for.
