So I dropped mine on tiled floor the other day and now it only turns on very dimly (maybe 10-15 lumens), no flickering though. Is there anything I can do to fix it?
You could try reflowing any solder joints on the driver you can see. Hard to say what else without seeing it
Those were pretty much all press-fit from what I remember. Well, except for the hair thin “threads” to screw the 2 tubes together that pretty much came from the factory pre-stripped.
Something probably cracked loose, solder joint, ground connection, etc.
Wasn’t there a Trustfire or similar lookalike? XP-G instead of a 219, etc.? Could swap halves to see which half is wonky, head or switch half.
Wait… that was a 1-speed light, no high/low or nothing, right?
Stick the battery in, short the (-) end to the case, see if it lights. That bypasses the switch, so you’ll know if that’s what busted.
Do you hear rattling? if so, I’d hazard guess the inductor got damaged, which can be replaced.
I’d heard some people use this for Liquid Electrical Tape as potting material.
