Just got a blf special edition from bangood 30 bucks, and it doesn’t have instructions. I did find some but I am confused on how to change modes. When I get it to blink, it blinks in a series of 4 blinks. How am I supposed to change modes or is that the battery level mode?
Is there a video anywhere?
Help
That is what I found but I can’t figure out if memory is on or not. this is my first multimode light. any tips?
Set it to any higher mode and turn off for a few seconds. If it comes back to same you have memory set. If it starts on moonlight then you do not have memory set.
If memory mode is on then when you turn off the flashlight it will come back on at the same brightness / flashy mode etc. So turn it on, soft click a couple of times to change mode, then turn it off. If when you next turn it on it remains at the mode you changed to you have memory mode set. If it goes back to moon mode (or low if you are in the 4 brightness mode) then you know you did not turn on memory mode.
Memory on or off should be easy to check. If memory is off it should always come on in moon mode, really dim. Turn light on and bump it up to a noticeably high mode. Now turn light off and back on if it comes back on bright memory is on. If it comes back on dim memory is off.
how do i turn memory on?
The config mode confused me at first too. The more you do it the easier it gets. You just need to remember that the for blinks are press the switch between blink 1 and 2 to switch between 4 and 7 modes. Press switch between blinks 3 and 4 to toggle memory.
It’s easy to be to late on the first window to switch mode groups. I would say be prepared to mess up the first time
Its gets easier the more you do it.
What config are you shooting for?
OK for memory on turn the light on. Half press 15 times ( don’t have to count once you get three light will turn off) it will then blink twice do nothing the click right after the 3rd blink. That should turn memory on.
Ok, I must be in the battery mode with blinks. It just changed to three! what the heck, I like the light but I want the 4 mode, no sos or super flash and it to come back on to the mode I left it in.
you really want it the way it comes straight out of the box …. you just don’t know it yet
First thing anyone needs to learn to do is to do soft half clicks …
people naturally do full on off type clicks …instead of telling people to click anything I usually say …clcik it on …then do soft touches not clicks …taps instead of clicks … fast soft taps takes you forward and longer soft taouches takes you backwasrds in the sequence .
once you master this simple ability than the light as is is simple and it’s also simple to modify …
even if the user interface isn’t exactly your cup of tea as is …if you had suffered for years and years with bad sos /strobe low pmw , you’d know how amazing this driver is .
