The xiaomi doesn’t have QC3.0 (well they do but they are more expensive about *$30 I Think). So if you need quick charge blitzwolf is the way to go I think. I have a xiaomi 16000mAh bank and I’m very happy with it, very sturdy and just works. Can’t comment on Blitzwolf but they seem to make decent stuff.
iPhones don’t support any type of quick charge, and in the case of the i6 the maximun charge current while being used is 1.5A. Unless you want to recharge your powerbank faster, which will also require a compatible QC wall charger, I would go with the tested and proven Xiaomi.
Blitzwolf is just a Banggood in house brand and some of their products come from the same factory that makes Tronsmart and Aukey.
Not true: later models of iPhone (and iPad) DO support charging with up to 2.4 A. Just make sure that the charger/powerbank’s USB output is coded accordingly (most after market devices are not).
I just ordered one of these from Bangood because I want to experiment with using the 12v output. It’s one of the cheapest ~10Ah powerbanks with Quick Charge 2 or 3 output. QC 2.0 would have worked fine for my needs, but those tended to be 4-cell, rather than 3, and so somewhat larger/heavier.
It’s too bad that it doesn’t support QC input, but 5v/2A should be good enough for now.
Why yes, yes it does. I just hooked a half-depleted iPad up to it and after a small amount of time at ~1.5A, it cuts. Once it cuts, I don’t be able to switch it on again immediately. Pushing the button wakes it up, but the output won’t resume until a little time has passed. That smacks of a thermal issue.
The QC port doesn’t seem to have the same problem. Interestingly, after charging the iPad off the 12v for 5-10 minutes, I switched it back to the 5v port. I just checked back now, >5 minutes later, expecting that it would have cut out, but it’s still going strong. Perhaps a bad joint somewhere that opens due to uneven heating, and then closes again when things are more equilibrated…
Thanks for calling attention to that fact. That is quite unwelcome. Have you initiated a return?
I contacted my guy at BlitzWolf directly to point it out. They have sent me a new one to review.
Seems there is a batch of powerbanks that all share this problem.
But the others that I know of have all gotten a replacement sent by Banggood.
It’s definitely a very capable power bank. One of the best things about it is that it’s small and manages to deliver a fast charging experience. Although the power capacity is rather on the small side when it comes to having 2 Output ports.
With that said, the portability and power go very well together.
