Looking for an LED Flashlight that can be used to track blood. I've seen one at Walmart made for Remington. I'm assuming it is a special type of led bulb/bulbs....UV???
Several versions of them exist. Some are indeed UV some are just green blue whatnot lights. Nothing is really very effective. Gets better when you get used to but generally is close to waste of time. Green light an UV and blue?!? makes spotting blod "easy" as on green foliage since ti looks looks like like tar.
If you're looking for something that will make the blood trail glow you're out of luck. It's possible if used with some special liquid sprayed on blood but that defeats the whole idea i think?
Blood actually absorbs light instead of fluorescing so yes, it will show up as 'black' when the proper bandwidth of light is shown on it and the proper filter lens is used. You would want something in the 470 nm range w/ orange goggles.
What does that have to do with tracking blood?????
Easy on the beer mate...
I wanted to post the Build LED flashlight to a different thread but I made a mistake. But while I am here why not just change the Cree XPG used in the mentioned project with an UV LED. I get you may just want to buy a product already made.
Good luck.
