Hi all
This is from the 3 cell Maglite ML300L.
I tried swaping out that R050 on there and did get a slight gain in output but I lost the modes. Is there some other component on there
that can be changed or is that it? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I don’t think that’s a boost driver… 3 D cells in series and a 3V LED… It’s either a buck oder a buck-boost-converter. Or am I missing something?
Yes, I was thinking is a buck or a linear type board, but I want to increase the drive current to the emitter if possible.
Hm, ok, sorry. I got the title wrong.
You could try different values for the resistor and see if you can get a gain without losing the modes.
I think the easiest thing would be to piggyback a different driver…
