Nice, with 2.8A in than size format it definitely needs good cooling
How did you protected outer body, we know that copper is highly affected by humidity,
every touch leaves nasty fingerprints!
P.S. only 75 grams, how did you manage that
Although the Convoy S4 host is 76g, being as it is made from Aluminum, I think copper is about 3.5x heavier than aluminum isn’t it? So if that’s the case, would be interesting to see how the weight savings were achieved. Anyone able to comment on the heat dissipation ability of copper as compared to Alu?
Pictures can sometimes alter the colour, but that looks like a brass-like alloy.
Still a nice looking light, but I have reservations about it being 100% copper, unless it does have a coating of some kind.
Copper has twice the thermal conductivity of aluminum.
Brass has about half the thermal conductivity of aluminum.
Edit: material seems to be addressed above. Probably brass.
It looks very nice, and being this colour the light is made of brass, which stronger than copper or aluminium (so the light can be build thinner), but although brass is a good heat conductor, it has 1/4th the conduction of copper (and half the conduction of aluminium).
For as long as I can remember, brass is referred to as copper overseas. I don't understand why. Brass has copper in it, but not much. What they need to learn is something called called "Pure 110 Copper" which is 99.9% pure.
It's a nice brass light, but it will overheat the led quicker than aluminum because the brass will not transfer heat from the pill near as quickly.
