Bright, Single 123/rcr123 forward clicky EDC

title pretty much says it all. I’m looking for a good, bright small forward clicky CR123/RCR123 light. I’ve already an Eagletac D25 Clicky that is pretty much what I want, but I prefer a forward clicky and I need something a bit cheaper. I plan to buy several that can be used as small lights for a backpack/pocket to give to hunting buddies as thank you gifts.

Any thoughts on what would be a good quality light to fit the bill?

This one might fit your needs, forward clickie, XM-L, 3 modes.

Cheaper at FT

I know it’s not 16340, but I’ve been EDC’ing the Balder SE1 XM-L for the last week and I like it. It’s real bright on 14500, OK on AA NIMH. The price is not bad either. I got mine from Fancyflashlights for around $20 I think (web site seems to be down right now). Built like a tank too, very rugged. The forward clicky is nice, my second light with one.

It may be a bit more than you want to pay but a great light.

It is not small compared to some others but feels good in hand. It is forward clicky, can manage high lumen (say 800). Total cost will be around $25 (half for L2m half for a drop-in).
My current favorite is a L2m with dedomed xp-g2 at 2.1A (self built). Good throw.

Crelant V31A. Love mine.

Forward-click, but 3mode with memory. You can use momentary in a pinch, but it changes modes too, so no signaling.

Great quality & finish, especially for the money. I have the old neutral white version, but this new U3 version has more output: click HERE to check it out

Thanks everyone! I think that crelant looks like it could be exactly what I’m looking for. I really like the ultrafire, too, but the crelant is just a bit smaller and when you’re packing in gear, that can be a great thing.

Much appreciated!

I don’t have that particular Ultrafire, but based on the brands other products, the Crelant is better quality and has a nicer feel. Hope it works out for you.

I have the old NW version and use it quite a bit with 16340. I travel with it a lot as well.
