Budget incan comparable to SureFire m6?

I had spotted a surefire m6 on CPFMP, made me realize I have never had a "good" incan light.

Is there a BUDGET alternative to the surefire m6?

http://dx.com/p/ultrafire-th-1300-20w-1200-lumen-hid-halogen-flashlight-3-18650-20231

that one looks nice, but about $80 more than its worth i think. thats HID price territory

edit: nobody has a suggestion to a decently bright budget incan?

That first light is awesome looking, way overpriced though. Ouch

After looking at the first link I saw this……

What were they thinking?! Venus fire? More like p*s fire……

YES, there is one! I just never thought anyone was that interested…

Since my Skyray 3800 finally burnt out I was trying to work out what to do with the host. I bought this: http://www.kaidomain.com/product/details.S003981 and it went right in, although the bulb needed unscrewing a little for best focus. Two 18650s or two 18500s in short arrangement gives 450-500 focused lumens OTF in 100 CRI (2.3amp draw at 8.4v, so about 20 watts). I was extremely impressed with it for an incan. You will also need to find a WF-500/TR-1200 host which will fit it but I’m sure one can be had for under $20 somewhere.

Full disclosure is that I don’t and never have had an M6, but for the price I think you’ll be very impressed.

Thanks guys! That ultrafire host is about perfect for what I like. I like stubby hosts and it is reported to use a bi pin bulb.

I've done a lot of research on hotwire mods, and though I would like to have one it's not really the format I like.

Redforest, I will have to look into that when I am at a computer

maybe i can mod my mystery skyray triple into a hotwire..?

its head is about the same size as a maglite. i may have to look into that

im really liking this ultrafire host, but dang... if it was under $50 i would probably consider... but i can get an HID for that price

Isn’t this an HID?

How about something like this

How bright are you looking for? Most won’t break 60-80 lumens.

Hugsby are generally alright.

Streamlight Twintask or stinger would be good too
Stingers are $80 or more but a Twintask is $30-40

they have it listed as an HID, but in the pics there is no ballast or room for a ballast, so i did some looking. theres some talk at the other forum on it, and in the comments on DX, its just a bipin incan.

thing i like about the fatty with battery carrier, if i wanted to try i could stack two lifepo4 rcr123a's in it for 18-21v

Have you thought about ROP modding a maglite ? ROP (Roar Of the Pelican)

Turns out if you can get 7.2 volts and a Pelican bulb you can get an 1100 lumen Incan light.
The lens and reflector need to be upgraded as neither can be plastic

yeah, i have done a lot of research on mag mods. but was hoping these days there would be something available premade, and i like the m6/th-1300 form factor

I’ve always loved the look of the TH 1300, but I’m still waiting for the price to drop

i really like the looks of the surefire m6, but the unrealistic price tag makes it so i will never own one. i also really like the looks of the th-1300, but again, almost $100 for an ultrafire incan when i can get a triple monster for that??? kind of unrealistic

For a stubby light I saw this
http://m.dhgate.com/product/mini-500-lumens-xenon-flashlight-authentication/156453739.html#pd-024

Never heard of dhgate

With a little more google-fu I found this
http://www.wolf-eyes.com/product/M300.html

Not sure if there still on the market

I really like the looks of that, but looks to be about 2x the price of the ultrafire

They are a quality light, sorry I’m not more help

Any Solarforce incans still kicking?

they do still have some dropins last time i looked, but i like the 3 cell carrier models. that way i can use bulbs in the 11.1-22.2v range

Dear Pulsar, how about this light,it has good quality with 3 X 18650 batteries. It not only can be used as a flashlight with 950lm,but also it can be used as a green laser.
