budget LED light fixtures?

my first (personal) experience with LED light fixtures finally occurred. I am everyones elecrtrician, they call me to change switches and plugs, add a electrical line, wire a garage, etc etc. My buddy’s mom wanted a new light fixture in her kitchen… when we finally did it? It was LED. I have SEEN them, but, never installed one before.

I mean, its easy… simple two wire 110 install, like anything else that runs on 110.

What amazed me? was 2 things… this fixture was LOW WEIGHT, and… very bright.

The lady’s kid i am wiring his house he is remodeling top to bottom? Their family and his wife are “ceiling fan people”, IE, they want ceiling fans everywhere (i hate ceiling fans, lol) but… in rooms like bathrooms and other places? we all like his moms kitchen LED fixture. VERY bright. I like the low weight and easy installation, and, never changing bulbs.

question… “mom” paid something like 90 dollars for her LED light fixture. I looked at the board? its pretty basic… is there a budget item out there that will pump out some good amount of light that isnt 90 dollars? I thought that was “retail price” and i should be able to get it substantially cheaper for almost the same thing on line… i just dont know what i am looking for or buying…

i HAVE been looking at COB led’s and such… i know theres a 110 driver and the LEDs are mounted on a metal plate… i just want an already built fixture, that doesnt break the bank. Judging by how retail stores want 50 dollars for a 15 dollar light i can order from china? I figure there a 30 dollar light fixture that does 90% of what her 90 dollar LED light fixture does, you know?

I got this from Costco on sale for like $15 and they’re pretty awesome. The cost now is $60 for two: http://www.costco.com/4’-LED-Shop-Light-with-Pull-Chain%2C-2-pack.product.100223617.html

Here they are on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Feit-917972-Electric-Utility-Light/dp/B00LFAY5SM

Sale is over, but they might come again.

well, actually that aint bad, if you get two fixtures for the one price… but, i was more thinking along the lines of… a circular fixture i just screw right to the ceiling box, you know?

I used to originally have “shop lights” for lights in every room, then i got tired of changing 4 foot bulbs, so, i put in regular old-fashioned fixtures on regular electrical boxes… i have “twisty” lights in every one (CFL).

i was thinking along the lines of just a circular or rectangular light fixture… it will replace the standard pull-chain porcelain base that populates the ceiling boxes now…

We just replaced the bulbs/spots
For a lot I needed to change the base so they accepted E27 instead of the bajyonet previously used.
Friend have a bunch of bayonet chandeliers and are not handy at all, they ordered adapters from bayonet to E14 or E27 from AliExpress for ~$0,40

No replacing? No there sometimes are bulbs stopping.
I have replaced 2 E27 bulbs and have to replace 1 GU10 spot today.
Our first LEDs were bought locally, very expensive, now I order from AE
The spot GU10 I am going to replace today was €23,- and a $2,50 AE one is going to be used, it just arrived.
