XP-G3 can work quite well with TIR optics.
And they’re cheap because everyone hates them.
Otherwise go for SST-20, but i think they cost a little more because everyone loves them.
Wrapping up…
First off, placed my order on Dec. 9th; it arrived Dec. 22nd. Massive kudos to the Logistics heroes who pulled that off, in spite of the fact that it wasn’t for Christmas presents.
I couldn’t resist the Lumintop Tool AA at $12.35, Nichia NW, nor could I say ‘no’ to the Convoy T2 4500K at $12.50. I thought I’d be “prudent” and only ordered 3 Tools and 2 T2’s. Stupid. I should have ordered 2x that, or more! At least for the Tools. They jumped back up past $17 before my order even shipped.
It gets worse…
I was also looking to replace my last Trustfire F20. I ass-u-med I would just pick one & give the rest away. Yeah, right. Now I am completely unable to pick one!

Yes indeed! Pure, dumb luck. On Lumintop’s Aliexpress Store. As of yesterday, the NW clicky ones are back under $15, so keep your eyes peeled.
And I must say, the Convoy T2 4500K is actually a better flashlight, overall, than the Tool. There, I said it. It’s a lot bigger (even bigger than the Trustfire F2 it’s replacing), so less nice to carry, and of course neither can claim to give “a lovely light”, in brightness or color; but when I get to a dark place and turn them on, the T2 returns the favor better, for a much better price. The Tool is as awesome as everyone here says, it’s just that Convoy passed past it, especially at some reasonable distance. TL;DR: the Tool works best indoors, the T2 is also useful outdoors. And both need a TIR to tame that hideous rainbow.
