C8 progression

I got my first Convoy C8 recently , a XML2 . I like it very much but I am already looking for more power . After reading here about Astrolux and Sofirn C8s , I came upon The C8.2s but there isn’t a lot about them yet . My questions are concerning the XHP50.2 and 35 emitters . Are they the latest and greatest and what are you giving up , if anything , such as increased heat or reduced run times ? Does it make more sense to go with a 26650 or is a 18650 enough to give comparable run times to original C8s . I understand that the throw is decreased but with an increase in brightness ? Also , what quality are the KDLITKER lights compared to the other common C8s ? I’m talking about budget lights only . Thanks .

Bump. Interested

The XHP35 HI would make a good emitter in a C8 thrower. The XHP50.2, not so much. It’s too large, and wouldn’t give a sharp enough hotspot.

I think the issue with budget lights not using those emitters, is that they require 12v, and so it makes for a more complex driver than simply using linear or direct drivers with a single 18650.

Something like this ?

Well that is a ringing endorsement . Is it more efficient than the XPL HI with the 8x 7135 driver such as Convoy C8 uses run time wise on high ?

Aaand my list keeps getting longer…

And Leon’s getting larrrrger…

Thanks and who is Leon ?

More than likely…

Yeah, sorry…

Haha. Loved that movie.

Correct me if I am wrong , but is the reflector both textured and smooth ?

So of all the new C8s , you think the -KDLITKER C8.2 XHP50.2 has the most wow factor ?
