I got my first Convoy C8 yesterday . It is a 8 x 7135 XML2 U2 1A . The outer portion of the beam has a halo around it . Sort of a ring around the beam . Is this normal ? Thanks .
I have a ring as well, it isn’t always visible but it is there.
Thanks FPV . All my others are tube lights without the ring . Reminded me of my Maglite . 
One more question . Does the XP-L HI increase the throw noticeably ?
Would it make any sense to put dc fix film on a C8 ? Has anyone tried this ?
Only if you wanted to diffuse the beam and reduce the throw.
I’ve a C8 with XPL Hi and only the faintest of rings, maybe you need to adjust the emitter/reflector height?
Try an orange peel reflector
On the Convoy S2+, comparing one with XM-L2 and another with XP-L Hi, the difference is quite noticeable.
On Convoy C8, there’s also a difference. I’ll try to do some beamshots…
