C8 XHP & MT-G2 Driver recommendations

I have a couple Convoy C8 hosts with emitter shelf and battery extension tubes. The plan is to put a XHP-50 in one and a MT-G2 in the other.
I could do a plain Jane Qlite Zener mod but would also like recommendations for some good Osh Park boards with moon mode and hand warmer modes. :sunglasses:

I bought them from Fasttech. I can post pictures tonight that show the anodizing color match.

Does it fit Convoy C8 (first revision)? There are some comments sais that they don`t fit Convoy, but fit some of Ultrafires.

These tubes did not fit my ultrafire C8’s. Only my late version Convoys. I do not have any pill style Convoy C8’s so cannot comment about that. Maybe someone else here knows.
I would caution not to trust reviews. I have seen many times where sites will spread identical reviews across similar products.

Check the drivers from Mtn electronics …
Either buck or some fet+1 zener modded drivers.

I also plan to build a Convoy shelf C8/extension/mt-g2 light this week! Got the last parts today. It’ll have a zener modded q-lite to begin with…
What do you think, how much current will the 6V mt-g2 be able to take in this rather small host?

Hi WolfA,
You can stack 4 to 8 more 7135’s on your Qlite but 16 total 7135’s is around 6 amps. That would definitely be a hand warmer. The MT-G2 will take a lot more but the payback diminishes very quickly up there.

I’m looking for drivers that will give-em the WOW factor around the campfire but also have a couple useable modes including a moon mode.
Preferably I want boards from OshPark that I can populate myself.
I already have some 6V boards by Wight but nothing with moon modes.

Killforfood, I’ll closely watch what you come up with! A few useful modes including moon would make me happy too!
My mini C8/XHP50 is a one mode light at the moment
