C808M - LCD wire help

Hey guys,

This will eventually turn into a post re: disassembly for the C808M but until I have time to post all the details you can check out the pics here (in order of disassembly).

I ran into a problem where the LCD wire came loose and it's not the type that is held in place with a plastic "latch" but rather looks to have been taped. Here is what I'm talking about:

I tried using a piece of tape but that only applies pressure to the ends and not the middle.

Is anyone aware of any adhesive I can use to reattach this and yet still maintain the electrial conductivity?

Thx!,
Tim

no idea… shotting wold say put a rigid bar up the contacts and use clamps on sides instead of tape
…gl xD
great beamshots! …w8 sry wrong thread xD

Thx, I was thinking along those lines but not sure where I can find any that small. Maybe those plastic paper binders will do the trick.

Also, after a little research, turns out the item I'm looking for is: Anisotropic Conductive Tape:

But the stuff is quite expensive and not worth my while. I'll continue looking and post back in case I find a solution.

take a look @ the repair kits for fixing rear window defrosters. i seem 2 recall they have a conductive adhesive for repairing open areas in the defroster wire,

Yeah, RadioShack also sells wire glue that could work.

Thx guys! I'm thinking of trying this:

Just not sure how I'm going to keep it strictly within the wires without having it smear since it's elec. conductive.

That stuff is also called z-axis tape. It only conducts across the thickness of the tape, not along the length or width. Can be had for $75 a roll…
