Interesting article on point and shoot zooms having longer zoom than dslr because of the size of the sensor. This is exactly like the relationship between die size and throw.
I think this is not really comparable, because a small sensor with 30x zoom results in a shitty image quality if zoomed to the max.
Well there is bad light quality as well, but even big light sources can be such sources of ‘bad light’, take incans as an example or the well known light bulb, especially when compared to modern LEDs,
