I have an old nov-mu head, it was faulty so I didn’t use for a long time(FFL send me a new one later). Now I wonder if I can turn it to something useable, maybe a flashlight with a new driver from convoy? Or a desk lamp like strip leds with some mods. If anyone can suggest what to do with this faulty head, I would be glad.
To explain whats wrong;
These always happen:
1- Smooth ramp doesn’t work. Has 3 steps always. At low, It can’t go to moonlight, its slightly brighter. However, if I take the battery out and plugged it back, it can smooth ramp and work fine, but only for 30 seconds or so.
2- Even when its off, the leds are always on. They stay on moonlight.
3- Button is extra hard to press, and has low travel distance.
Randomly happens:
4- When I’m at high ramp, it doesn’t go up to turbo from max ramp when I click twice. Sometimes it goes there and I hear a click sound(switching driver), but they I hear it again when I press, but brightness is same. So I’m not sure what’s going on here. When I’m at Turbo I click twice and it goes to lowest, two click again to turbo etc. When I press and hold it goes up to highest, but waits 2 seconds before going down, unlike others.
5- Sometimes, when its at high ramp or turbo(sometimes it goes there), I can’t go down. I click and hold to go down, but it doesn’t go down, so it heats up and I turn the light off. Other times it works.
