hey folks so i was given a Ultrafire zooming flashlight E06 about a year ago it was supposed to have a XML-T6 in it i never really like the flashlight since i received it! So i actually forgot that i had it that is how much i loved it ha! I was given the light to do a review on which i done and the review showed my attitude.

So basically i do not have many parts sitting around but i did have a spare C8 well it isn’t spare but i broke it by mucking around with it my first modding light i am rough with stuff…

I am by no means an expert on modding flashlights so take what comes out of my mouth or fingers with a grain of salt!

Lets start by looking at the flashlight its self so so shiny…

this is the driver now feel free to correct me but it looks like a direct drive? crude DD maybe?

The best Cree LED around lol!!! but in all seriousness it looks in better condition then the XML L2 i put in it… I threaded one of the screws in the C8 pill so the XML-L2 is thrashed all scratched and dented but she works!

This is the finished product i kept the driver seeing as the C8 driver is way to small also note i bought wire for mods but it was doorbell wire and it seems to be one piece wire not many strands wrapped. I do have thicker wire but it wouldn’t fit in the holes. I did also DE-dome the LED with a screw driver i was not careful at all just yanked it that is how Sunday i feel! well i hooked the screw driver in the top of dome and slowly peeled it so i was some what careful… actually my first DE-doming the tint looks good now!
The wire is to long i might make it pretty looking later but it works for now and i know the solder job looks like it was done by a two year old!

Okay i used my 5 hands to hold the multi-meter and take a pic at the same time skilled aye? i did get a reading of 2.55amp before but couldn’t reach the hold button lol!
Overall i am happy for such a lazy job looks much better then before it had a nasty blue tint i will link my video here so you can see the dirty tint.

I should also add the LED sits in by force of that cover screw thing no actual screw holding it but that also means i can move the LED around easier so it looks in focus. can’t keep a straight face while typing that part…

It was reading about 1.4amps before i done the mod so its better i guess…

Okay so i had a nap as you do when your getting old and i got up and decided to change the spring on the driver i had one spare from when i blew up the crelant flashlight… fresh cells just charged

Can some one tell me if its okay to dedome an LED on a zoomy? Its to late any ways but I’m just wondering?

(hmm link wont work, well when I search for KX-F710 on geekbuying I see it.

I think the lines are elegant, the curves suggested in the battery tube go very nice with the shape of the head.
I think it is the best looking zoomie I have, though I do not really use it, I use th Uniquefire 1504 when I want to use a zoomie, that is beautiful because of the big lens and good output.

And mine came with a XML, and to tell you the truth, I like it, it feels very nice, beause of the 3xAAA possbility it will be a nice gift.

Did you take your’s apart is it a real cree?

I don’t mind the look of it just the performance was horrible. Plus being a zoomy its not waterproof.
When I’ve had good ultrafire products in the past then got this it was a shame. But I guess it probably a fake. I don’t think ultrafire would use a latticebright.

Of course you can! It really makes zoomies into lightsabers. The only problem is they normally come out with some really ugly rings around the hot spot. All of my zoomies are dedomed, and I only use them for 2 things; all flood, or all throw.

Yes I checked it and it has a genuine Cree.
As fas as design, look at the shape of the head and the curves the machining of the tube created.
Google Jaguar E-type or older Ferrari’s and hold the light sideways next to it. I think it is very nice design.

I still can’t wrap my head around the brand Ultrafire

From what I understand it used to be good, went bankrupt and now everybody is slapping the name on anything.
I do not have a Ultrafire with a XML (2) all advertised as such were LaticeBright. For me Ultrafire means cheap and probably crap. But I’ve seen others ask for specific models so know it is not always so.

I have some ultrafire lights from about 2011 they are good i like them. I did not know they went bankrupt that would explain a lot i guess

Yes, you can polish a turd, but you have to make sure it is very dry and hard first. Otherwise it makes a big mess in every sense [and I mean every sense :) ] of the word. Try painting it with some metallic lacquer first it makes it easier to polish.

You still have to let it dry thoroughly first or the lacquer will go cloudy. Then you would have to strip it down to bare poop and start over.
