Is there such a thing as a centering disc that centers an XM-L reflector on an XP-G LED?
i haven't seen one, and I don't know why. It seems to me that most hosts come with XM-L reflectors, and you'd think someone would make a centering disc to accommodate an XP-G in one. How hard could it be?
For an XP-E2 mounted on a SinkPAD, I cheated - epoxied the XML centering ring to the SinkPAD. Reflector sits nice, emitter centered in the reflector, it seems to work??
You know, sometimes you do something on a whim and you're not sure if you really want to make it public because you don't really know if it's good or not, so maybe I didn't mention it before, but damn, sure seemed to solve the problem. It's in a Jacob A60, actually two of them, and they do about 107-111 kcd. I'm sure it should work for a XP-G2.
Oh - actually for the A60, I epoxied 2 of the centering rings together, filed off the top edges of the lower one, because I needed the XP-E2 set further down to be in the best focus -- that resulted in getting the 111 kcd.
First one doesn't do centering, second one has a ring sized for the XP-G specific reflectors, which don't need a centering ring anyway. Don't know of any that act as an adapter, other than something you have to make yourself. :(
