Charging Wh vs battery energy on discharge

It’s easy to measure the total energy delivered to battery when charging. Is there a reliable relationship between that and what the battery can deliver back at some discharge currents?

This is one of those sorta/depends situations.
There are always losses in charging so best accuracy is measuring discharge from full with any battery.
There can be significant losses/termination problems/inaccuracy for NiXX when charging.
I would not bank on NiXX charging at all for accuracy. The older the cell + the characteristics of the charger can complicate this a lot. Some charger handle old cells better than others.
(I’ve got a bunch of newer EBL’s. Usually new NiMh terminate pretty reliably. EBl’s…not!)

Lithium ‘can’ be closer for the in/out tally. But…charging may be lower current than delivered current. In that case the low voltage cut-off, if there is one, can make it show a difference that can be minor to quite large depending on the particular situation.
