I tried charging 2aaa eneloops pro batteries today and my xiaomi powerbank kept cutting out after 10min or so. I also charged 2 aa batts and it also kept cutting out but after I switched port it kept charging. But I couldn’t keep it chrarging the aa. Anyboy else tried this or somebody who knows why or what’s wrong? I noticed that if I put a low watt LED light on the xiaomi it also cuts out, but I think that’s just because it doesn’t pull enough current so the “energie saving” jumps in and cuts the pack out. I have no problems with it when I charge my MP3 player or put on a more powerfull LED light.
PS: Don’t know if this belongs here or in USB power devices.
Maybe your cells are nearly full? I’m pretty sure it’s the low current draw auto shut off, but no way to confirm unless you have a USB power meter. Most powerbanks shut down when the load is <150mA
This is why the multi-mode xiaomi LED light has a driver designed specifically to burn excess power, this way even when the light is set to low it keeps drawing the same amount of power as in high mode, about 170mA 5V to produce only 5 lumens. I find it ironic because it was marketed as “multi mode for low power consumption”.
