The thing with cheap lights is, that a good light isn’t that more expensive.
For under 10$ you get a Convoy S2+
A good 18650 plus a good charger and you still are under 20$, even if you do not use coupons
Hey, bud. Welcome.
Stay away from anything but well-reviewed torches. The ebay junk is just that — junk. And it’s not all about lumens…it’s about lux (or light density). Keep educating yourself about lights and luminosity and you’ll save yourself from buying much junk! Trust me—been there!
Interested to hear more about that.
Uhhh, yeah. Unless that XM-L is cryogenically cooled by being immersed in liquid nitrogen, it’s not getting near 10000lm. Try 1/10th that at best. And if it includes the 3×AAA adapter, figure 1/50th at best.
If it includes the words “tactical”, “police”, or “swat”, it’s generally garbage.
This one was a 2-fer, so it’s probably super-garbage, unfortunately.
Welcome to BLF.
Yeah, that ebay light is crap…
I would get a Convoy C8 if i were you.
Mobile projector project?
Like a video beamer on batteries?
I’m going to be doing a review of a cheap and nasty generic zoomy soon, just to see how bad they are!
Keep in mind that a projector requires an even brightness from edge to edge.
You will not achieve this with a normal flashlight.
I recommend the Olight M3XS-UT Javelot its 40 percent off at the moment it’s only 90 dollars but it throws 1000 meters and it’s 1200 lumens, I own this myself and I can say it is very impressive and you will easily light up the building from very far distances
Thanks for input mikelights…Ive more or less decided on the Thorfire S70S at £60 and near enough 4000lm…I think this would be a good first buy down the whole flashlight route for my project…?
i have just purchased that exact light off banggood and i got it for 38$ usd with the discount code fef4fb its a great light as well! I hope this helps
Thanks for input mikelights…Ive more or less decided on the Thorfire S70S at £60 and near enough 4000lm…I think this would be a good first buy down the whole flashlight route for my project…?Ill certainly keep that in mind for that length of throw.
$38??So is it alright for myself to use that discount code?
yes go right ahead it works perfectly
Fantastic wow £30 lol cheers bud!!
no problem :money_mouth_face: i said the same thing when i found the code myself :sunglasses:
Never heard of banggood and this coupons and codes before. Bit of an eye opener. Thanks again ![]()
getting the required uniformity for a projector is going to be most of the work.
and feeding that pig.keep in mind that a 4000 lumen light will also have lots of heat to get rid of.
hopefully you can get the job done with half that.eases the battery and thermal issues a lot.
This is where things go crazy. The prices… ![]()
even if it doent work out for the projector you just bought your first dose of “gateway drug”
you are too far down the rabbit hole to turn back.
