Checking tailcap current on KR4 and KR1, how it the world do you do it?

I have been checking current draw for years with most of my builds and I have not figured out how in the world to do it with the KR4 and KR1. I would normally use a short loop of heavy gauge stranded wire from batt- to the outside tube and make or break the connections to bump up the output. Current would then be checked with my Uni-T 210E.

I can’t for the life of it get the light to turn on, stay on and increase output. What is the key?

Cross posting this to r/Hanklighs as well.

Take your thick wire, connect a test lead with alligator clip on one end, connect the thick wire to batt- and the tube as usual with one hand, and then with the other hand you touch the end of the signal tube with the test lead, that’s your switch.

Thanks, will try that as well. I am gaining on this process, finally.
