The Chinese New Year is coming. Just prior the New Year vendors and factories are trying to get as many orders as they can filled. After the New Year the vendors and factories spend about a month (sometimes even two) playing "catch up".
Different people have told me different dates but from The 3rd week in January to the 3rd week and February businesses close (there are two weeks in there where the country essentially closes).
This happens every year but many forget and new people here at BLF are not aware. Please keep this in mind when ordering. If you "need" something you may want to consider local or choose shipping like DHL. It will help keep the stress levels down.
One week from today is probably the safest bet. Figure there is one week transit/processing and then it needs to get loaded at the port whether plane or boat. Anything after that can easily make orders go 60 days for delivery unless options such as DHL are used. Mind you...not saying 60 days is certain but it does become a lottery and everyone should be prepared.
The good side to all of that is that many sales get posted
Is this group buy going to be held until after the Chinese New year?
Any idea?
If it does that is maybe good as they won’t be rushed to fill the order, on the other hand, when they come back they may be hungover and not in the mood to do a special job.
Also, if they take the money first and then go away for a month, that is going to effect some members Paypal shipment resolution time.
Not good timing either way really.
Such is life.
Later,
Keith
Useful reminder… note that the Chinese take these holidays very seriously, every year things go mayhem for a couple days, days-long traffic jam, food shortage in some towns, transport services running over capacity… if anyone needs to place an time-sensitive order, better do it now.
Officially it is 7th thru 13th but there is nothing but craziness at least 1 week before and a week after. Just picture a whole country like Times Square on New Years Eve...not just the celebration but also the preparation and clean up...and because China is heavy into manufacturing they always have some serious catch-up
