In my opinion, Xiaomi’s modifications to Android (called MIUI) make for a better Android than Android itself. Many, many thoughtful touches, stable, and great battery life. I like it so much that I run MIUI on my Galaxy S3. It’s so much better for my needs than the stock Samsung Android OS that it’s not even funny.

Xiaomi MUI better then stock Android???

In my opinion, for my personal usage case, definitely. Your mileage may vary.

Very interesting!

Fair enough!

keep in mind Samsung is not stock Android, far from it.

Yep, I should have made clear that by the “stock” OS I meant the “stock Samsung” Touchwiz interface.

I agree its garbage sorry i misunderstand you

The three things I don’t like about the Nexus phones are, the lack of an FM radio (streaming radio uses data, FM is free), the non-expandable memory, and the non-removable battery. It’s like Google looked at the features people like least on the iPhone and thought, “hey, we should do that too.”

On the other hand I do like the idea of naked Android and factory updates that don’t have to wait for the owning company to reskin Android to match their phones.

Chinese standards? Isn’t the iphone made there  A lot of bloat installed on samsung phones, and t-mobile. Can root it, unlock it for different carriers though. Need a good base. Funny though my wife plays that hayday like it’s crack. I kind of wish we had our old phones sometimes, you know the ones that we used as actual phones instead of palm computers. Have all the power of my home network in my pocket through ssl :frowning: It seems kind of ridiculous sometimes.

buy one of those very cheap chinese no name phones, use it for a month or until it dies a quick death then get back to us

Never bought a really bad phone to be honest. Since the obama phone thing, the carriers give away phones to the homeless. Those junk phones work for emergency calls without paying for a carrier. Kind of cool, good way to recycle a old phone. Just give it to anyone in need.

And if your really cheap, can make wireless calls. I guess if I bought a no name phone- I can kind of imagine what I’d be like

Without any special tweaking my Xiaomi Hongmi 1S scores 19661.

14158 for my LG Optimus 4XHD.

I think some of huawei and ZTE phones are in amazing price-to-performance ratio, like honor 3C,Nubia Hongniu

+1 to OnePlus One. Dropped my phone on it's face a week or so back. Glad to have a reason to get a new phone.

Hoping it can hold out to the OnePlus One becomes publicly available.

Huawei, OPPO and Xiaomi are really big players in the Chinese market and their product quality is improving leaps and bounds each iteration.

Nothing comes close to a HTC One for me, but I'd rather not drop the better part of a grand on a phone designed to be replaced in less than three years, max.

I dont know that you can have anything with better bang for buck than a moto G, fantastic phone for the price, with a Qualcomm quad core, not a mediatek pos.
