Chinese watches?

So we all know about the occasional gems in the Chinese flashlight and knife world. Are there any similar gems in the Chinese watch world?

I'm thinking mainly about knockoff's in the diver or military style.

Check out ebay seller Military Watches Mall out of Hong Kong.

I have one like this, and it keeps time better than watches that cost 5X.

Been diving with it and beat it pretty bad, but the PVD coating is very tough.

Screw on back. I have replaced the battery once in 5 years.

I have one of his automatics as well, but that's getting out of the "Budget" classification. At least mine....

I own a few other Chinese automatics and have not had as much luck there. I'm sure they are out there.

I was just bidding on ebay on a G shock. Then I realised it was a fake and a pretty good one too. Problem is people are bidding like they are real. One went for $70. Found them on ali express 10 for $50 delivered. Reported it to ebay but they will probably do nothing.

I've read that SeaGull makes pretty good watches.

ioffer.com used to be the best place to get super-cheap knockoffs.

Do you mean just General quartz watch or mechanical?

Quartz.

Many kick offs of G-shock…

There's a bunch of knock-offs as well. 0:)

Just received one of these:http://dx.com/p/solar-powered-waterproof-el-digital-stopwatch-sport-wristwatch-black-32732

So far it looks very well built, not exactly up to the standards of watches costing 10-20x more, but I can’t complain for >$9. States on the back it is water resistant to 3 atmosphere (30 meters), I think it should hold up to at least 10m. Here in NZ you would probably spend $20-$30 for the same quality. Downside is that it is bulkier then I expected.

Hmm, I’m eyeing more on the mechanicals…

Cheap with tritiums :crown:

Here some cheapos:

I ended up with two.
Timex Expedition Trail (analog).

Timex Expedition (digital)

These were cheap enough and do what I want and I could get them right away.

gcbryan, how are those Timex’es doing after these monthts?

Ive ordered myself couple of cheap Casio’s that I wont be upset about if they get lost or broken, but been looking into G-Shock territory just to realise that their screens might not be the best bet if one needs legible LCD’s, Timex on the other hand have really BIG numbers and dont waste their screen real estate to useless design elements or visual eye candy.

Oh and Manual Man - hows your solar DX watch holding up, is it really solar or not, how about using it while swimming or showering?

Oh,i found cell phone watch at ankaka, one interesting kind of watches with phone function.

Funny watch..

Would never wear this kind of watch.

Poo

Parnis makes very good and robust mechanical watches with sea-gull movements, i have one of their IWC portugaise homage, it’s a steal, you can have one for 80 shipped i believe.

Some of the Swatch are very good. Since Swatch owns most of the highend watch companies. They do have excellent lowend watches too.

The Seiko 5 automatics are down around 50 bucks now. I’ve been wearing one for a few months and really like it.
