CK's out of the hobby sell off

Hello friends, been a while since I've been logged in here...

Let me explain, no I'm no longer active in the hobby tho I do still very much enjoy my stable of lights I use daily. I had to let it go mainly cause I'm simply out of free time now that my family (my wife, little sister who lives in our basement and I) bought a horse farm! My daily life has changed drastically to say the least lol. I am now in charge of day-to-day farm life and responsible for running the place and caring for the >2 dozen horses on the property while my sister and wife run the training business...

Anyway I'm trying to conduct some Ag based research in this off season and need to try anything I can to raise some money for a very expensive piece of equipment thus I'm listing some cool lights I dont use as much. They're special in that they have the sample LED ENGIN flat top LZ1's I was sent to test when I was doing my light thing and partnering with LED ENGIN. The project is over and I'm aloud to sell them off so two of the lights listed here today have those emitters in them (than you cant get anywhere else in the world)!

First is my TN30 with two flat-top ZL1's and one CREE XM-L2 6S 7D3 (2900K HCRI). The LZ1's are CW so they combined with the warm white, VERY high CRI XM-L2 make a very pleasing output and the heavy OP reflector blends the beams nicely. Running the stock current and outputting 1660Lm at 130kcd with no excess heat and very good runtimes from 2200mAh cells. A very usable beam pattern with the two flat-top's and the one dome-on XM-L2. Note the stock DTP MCPCB is used with some interesting custom solder work to adapt the LZ1's to the board (they are NOT XM-L2 pad layout).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next is another LED ENGIN LZ1 light: this one is a Small Sum ZY-T13. Again the stock buck driver is used (cause the LZ1's dont take high current like CLEE's). This one is pencil beam to the max. 180kcdm 420Lm and very good runtime cause of the low current (~2.6A IIRC, sub 3A for sure, dont remember exactly). This one took a LOT of reflector work and it THE MOST FOCUSED reflectored light I've ever seem. Has just a timy amount of spill and looks like an aspheric. Mega thrower!

Even tho it took a TON of reflector work I was very cautious to not damage it, the reflector is perfect without even a finger print smudge. The beam is beautiful and as close to a laser as any aspheric I've ever used! This is a DTP LED ENGIN MCPCB

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next is a very good condition Black Shadow PAdME in original box. All original but has a XM-L2 U2 1D. Almost no use as it just wasnt something that worked for me (the light works fine, it wasn't something that was useful for how I use lights)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally is a Shadow SL-3 host. No reflector, lens or electronics. I sent the reflector to CC and never got it back.

All prices are OBO, I will take almost any reasonable offer as funding this project is just that important. Thanks for looking! Again please make any [reasonable] offer, raising money is much more important that having these sitting on the shelf!

TN30 = $100

ZY-T13 = $50

BTW if you’re interested in seeing some of the research project I’m working on I’ve launched a crowdfunding campaign to try to help raise more backing for it. Please feel free to read the campaign description and I would appreciate it if anyone could share it, be it on social media or by word of mouth or email chains or whatever they use to communicate…

Howdy CK, sounds like a great time and lots of work ahead for you with the grass burners. I love horses but I’ll gladly let someone else do the work of keeping them!! Talk about a labor intensive beast.

Glad to hear you are into such a cool business and I hope you don’t forget about us completely.

Good luck on your sale, if I wasn’t completely broke right now I’d pick a couple of them up.

Sounds like an interesting project, is it essentially a quad version of the AgEagle?

All the best CK and the amount of work you did here was invaluable. Cheers.

I wouldnt say that, they’re a commercial company looking to sell a product, I’m interested mostly in educating other farmers and developing new ways to use drones in other fields as well. As was with cleanflight, one of my main goals is to improve the user experience and make getting into it easier for the non-technical user. I also will be using a much more advanced flight controller based on a RasPi 2. The Navio+ which will allow so much more on board processing than what that thing’s using.

Right now I use tricopters as I much prefer how they handl vs a quad but the navio+ will be going into a 1.3m fixed wing plane just cause I require the extra flight times that even my best, longest endurance multi’s just can’t provide me with carying all the extra equipment I need to fly…

In campaign news I’m in the writing stages for several sustaniable farming grants a both the state and national levels for the 2016 growing season and I really feel I have a great chance, my project includes the main idea’s of each of last year’s 10 entrant’s whole projects covered all on heir own. I pretty much based it exactly off what their calls for submission wanted lol.

Thanks guys. FWIW I use about a half dozen lights daily and I keep a selection of lights and a charger out in our barns for the boarders to use, 3 of which are BLF special lights!

CK, it’s sad to see you get out of the hobby. I was looking forward to seeing how those LED ENGIN emitters that you were beta testing worked out.

If you still got any color drivers to sell, I still want to buy a couple.

Don’t worry, djozz and I will carry the UV torch in your absence. I hope you get time to visit once in a while to see what UV toys we have made.

I just ordered some samples of these emitters to be tested on DTP copper. You know that they ar asking to be driven over 2 amps. Look at the vf. J)

Sounds like a great project, and I wish you the best of luck, especially with trying to educate some of the older farmers!

Best wishes on your new future, it seems a great idea. I was in Columbus (actually just past Johnstown off of 62) a month ago visiting a friend who has a fully kitted out Predator. He actually does what you’re going into with his already.

Phil

Since CK did not post it yet, I’d like to say that the Small Sum ZY-T13 and the Shadow SL-3 host are on its way to me.

Sent you a PM just in case it is still available

CK’s probably brushing down the horses, so i’ll let everyone know i rec’d the lights with some batteries i wasn’t expecting. he’s a good man and he was a valuable asset here. hopefully he’ll hit the lottery and hire someone to shovel the stable so he can spend more time here.
