Clarifying my mental health

I said absolutely nothing about your perception of the officers other than implying that you noticed they were open carrying. People take things from conversations differently. Again, social skills. I don’t have enough time to speculate on why you might be nervous about driving. If you thought about it for 10 minutes you could probably come up with a list. I don’t know where you get the idea that guns have to be cleaned every 6 months or on some certain schedule. But as others have said, if you’re going to have a gun of any sort you need to use it on a somewhat regular basis so that you understand how to safely use it inside and out. And that “might” mean cleaning it more than every 6 months. I would start with a BB gun or an air rifle.

Right now, in Riverside County, it’s at least a 2 year wait to even be considered for review, so that’s not a sure thing.

The good news, is that you guys have gone from 1400 total permits issued, in 2012, to 3000 in 2017 and are now up to 4,000!

But that’s the case with most of California and the hoops to jump through, can be quite rigorous.

In the big picture the cost of the gun itself pales in comparison to everything else for many people, at least for people who shoot a lot. Factoring in the price of ammo and gun accessories (spare mags, holsters, extra barrels, replacement parts, etc), the purchase price of the gun becomes a not very significant factor. So Jeff51 is right, buy what you want and don’t worry about the extra money you might be spending.

I did research, and six months was the answer that I found most often.

Even if you don't use a gun, you have to clean it on a regular basis or else it may misfire or do something else wrong.

^ +1 Great advice.

Depends on where you live and the environmental conditions.

I’m in Miami, where it’s humid at times, but I’m also in A/C 10 months a year, so one would want to check for rust every couple of months and keep things oiled, as oil does slowly evaporate.

Same with living in a dusty area, but there is no specific interval.

One can fire a well oiled gun…say 100 times and then put it away and worry not.

…after post #45, just when I thought it was safe to go back to the water…

You referred to post #45.

I didn't lie about anything or claim that anyone was attacking me, so what's the problem now?

If there is a slight variation in your mood or with some anxiety or anything that seems a little more or less than usual, then it might be a good idea to schedule a visit with your doctor and have him evaluate whether the meds or the doses need to be adjusted.

I am sensitive to ridiculous posts, especially ones directed at me, and I've seen a lot of those lately.

The real problem are the ridiculous and inappropriate posts, and also the real problem is that I've been on edge on BLF lately.

I might be on edge on BLF because of the collision thread, the handgun thread, and this thread.

Have you ever thought raccoon city it may just be you that is missing the mark??

Have you ever considered the possibility that you could actually be wrong at least sometimes??

Just a thought….

Start with the splash pad. But stand perfectly still so you don’t splash anyone.

Oh well, one man’s ridiculous post can be another man’s brilliant idea.

RC, I, you or we cannot have control of anything in public forum. Being onion-skinned in a public forum is not a good idea.

I'm not missing the mark.

I am wrong sometimes, but not this time.

I'm slightly thin-skinned, not onion-skinned.

I'm also sensitive to ridiculous and inappropriate posts.
