Closed: Could use 1 or 2 good condition 14500's in the States...

Have my first light coming that says it will take a 14500, it is an Ultrafire Stainless C3. I do not have any cells that are that small. Before I run out and start stocking up on the, I was hoping to get a cheap one that is not a garbage cell to test with… I could also use a 16340 cell the same way.

Pretty cheap New:

I need to place an order for switches from Richard anyway, guess I will throw in a battery or 2.

Does anyone have the Ultrafire C3? Does it require a button top or will it work with flats?

I could not resist and ordered this light from DXSoul…

From what I understand it has a 17mm driver, so if I hate it I can always change the driver.

Matt

Sounds like button top is needed. Someone mentioned soldering a nub or spring onto the driver in one of the reviews.

Thanks all.

For the future, illumn.com (formerly IS) also carries 14500s:

Just a FYI, I’ve seen 14500s for sale at Lowe’s home improvement stores near the solar landscape lights. I wasn’t in the market for 14500s at the time so I didn’t note the brand but I do recall not seeing any other sizes on the shelf.

I have this one: https://www.fasttech.com/products/1601/10003894/1278200-c3-cree-xp-e-r2-248-lumen-3-mode-white-led-flashli
It works with aa and lithium. Its very bright with Nitecore NL147.
After I did pencil trick it always starts from hi mode

Nice light…
