The wife tells me mine came in,at work and waiting patiently!

This is a great little light. The modes are perfect. LL and L for indoors and M and H for outdoors.

Great fit in the hand. Heft and feel convey an instrument of high quality.

Can't get over the feel of this 4AA. ( == ) Love it.

Got mine today.
It’s a nice light.
Mode memory works properly, and I like the low !
Nice heft in the hand and nifty holster.
Spare O ring and lanyard too.

Finally mine was delivered yesterday. I did not pay for tracking. I did not have much time to play with it last night but it works well so far and no obvious blemishes. Its a great deal for the price.

I got mine yesterday and I have to say for the money, there's little competition in this particular format.Well built and even bright on alkalines.I'm happy with this one for sure.

You said the A word!

oops...had to just to see if it would be a good SHTF light.

Has anyone done a run time on moonlight mode, yet?

They arrived yesterday. The very best packaging I’ve ever received from overseas. Inside the package the lights are great. I’m very happy with this deal. Mode spacing is perfect, light color is clean without any funky greens, purples or yellows.

OK, took some pictures of my (I’m pretty sure) defective light, all f3.3, 1/25 or 1/50 second. Maybe I don’t understand the different modes? Maybe my driver is defective? I doubt the led is defective as it does light.

I have sent email to Ric but have not received a response.

Light on low

Light on medium

Light on high

Voltage of batteries at light head

Resistance of switch (actually, mostly resistance of meter leads.)

Resistance of driver/led contacts, meter setting - check diode

Try different batteries, you may have got a dud battery, alkalines are not known for high current output and maybe you got one with high internal resistance or about to leak?

Do you have any NiMH rechargeables, that would be the ultimate test.

Has anyone tried a single li ion to see if the light would run normally?

Well mine arrived last Friday and I have to say I am pretty happy with it for what I paid. Has a nice beam profile, all looks well made, modes work perfectly. Its $23 well spent in my book. I chucked some Energizer Lithium Primaries in it and will just leave it on my shelf for when a non-flashaholic asks to borrow a light as that is the sole reason I bought it.

I also tried a fresh 6 pack of Enloops, same result as the Duracells. I have not tried a single li ion. If it doesn’t work properly with 6+ volts, I don’t think a single li ion would do the trick, and its very inconvenient to try and use a single li ion.

So that is pretty dim since you can see the table in ambient lighting still while the LED is on high. I don’t know if I get your switch reading, with the 200 number does that men 160 ohms or just 1.6 ohm? In any case, if you have some wire and magnets, you could rule out the switch if you just hooked up 4 AA in series and then tested it on the light head. If it’s not the switch, then it must be the driver or the wire connections to the LED.

The switch resistance reading is 1.6 ohms, which is mostly the resistance of the meter leads. The switch is working just fine.

I am beginning to suspect that I have a defective driver. I have tried to remove the insert but without a spanner wrench I can’t budge it.

I have some magnets somewhere, if I can find them I will try the six Duracells in series and bypass the switch.

Still have not heard from Ric. I will give him a couple of days before I pester him again.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Mine just came a few minutes ago, i just opened a new pack of eneloops and put them on the charger so in an hour or so they will be the dedicated starry light matched capacity batteries

So you have covered the bases, your light does look defective

I wonder if this light can use 14500 batteries? :~

It might be able to, it appears to be a linear driver, but what is its max voltage?
Also why bother, being a 4 battery light i am sure you would have to use one or two cells with dummies, and there are so many other lights and most of us will have 18650 lights with 18650 cells so i see this as being a 4AA light being its selling point, my eneloops will take a beating and keep on ticking because i assume this will now become my most used and lowest cost to operate light.

Mine would not light and now the head is stuck (it was rotating freely), any ideas?
