just out of curiosity, do you have 4 dummy cells to run a test for me?
if so, put one cell in each slot then a dummy on top and see if it still functions and is as bright

Should be a buck driver so it might work with 2 or 3 x 14500.
That light would KSA with 4 x 14650 a 3-18V driver and XML Sinkpad. I wonder if it can be reworked to parallel the batteries and use a DrJones mobydrive master/slave. I’ll stay tuned for OL’s next exciting episode.
I believe it’s 4S/2P, so just four batteries would work without dummy cells. As long as one complete circuit was loaded with cells, it should work.
I can't check much as I tore it down (well tore it up would be more of a literal explanation, that's how I know it's Red loctite), so I can't test it at all, but I will verify 4S 2P later tonight when I get home.
