Hey men, brothers, dude, friends, folks,
As you can see, there are a FC12-terry, a weapon light and red dot sight both not Wurkkos. So I must let you know I will get a Wurkkos weapon light and red dot sight, not nonsense, not chatGPT. And Mr. Fallblau said the pistol size ones need to be even more tough.
I like this challenge, also need a detailed goal( only for pistol).
I need your help my loving flashlight community, leave a comment for your most commonly used or favourite pistol model.

Hello everyone,
Could we called red dot sight lumens baby? I guess the beam power less than 0.1 lumen.
These days I’m falling in red dot sight era. That’s so interesting to make the micro lumens appear only in the lens. The exact opposite path of making a lumen monster. So amazing! I like it!! :star_struck:
Is there anybody research on RDS? And I have a bold idea now. Looking forward to join the common gang !:muscle:

It won’t light up your surroundings, it just projects a little dot into the mirror. It cannot help you to see in the dark.

Although there is some relevance for red dot sights with flashlights: You can mount a red dot sight to a LEP flashlight to aim it before turning it on. Is it necessary or helpful? I don’t know.

Combine red dot sight with LEP? Wow, that’s sounds fantastic. Let me search if there is any relevant information. Action go!! lol

Red dots project a led onto a lens. I’d be curious to see what Wurkkos could come up with in that regard. The micro size ones need to be even more tough to deal with the recoil of a pistol slide vs much less recoil on a rifle . I would look at holosun’s offerings to get a good idea of what a competitive priced micro red dot contains they are great !!

Edit wrote laser instead of led.

Micro red dot optics use a LED or laser to project the image of a dotnor reticle onto a mirror thst projects that on another lens with a special coating that allows you to see the reflected image without any stray illumination or light bleed through. Some do it different like Trijicon which uses hybrid fiber optic with lighting on the ACOG.

I have a Nikon DF-M1 red-dot sight meant for aiming long telephoto lenses. You can also choose green if you’d prefer. Rather exotic gadget but it makes for faster target acquisition. Sadly discontinued.

1 Thank

You so professional! That’s the first time I’ve heard ofrecoil of rifle would be light pistol. If it would be more difficult to make micro size ones for a pistol? Which one is more valuable for reference, Trijicon or holosun?

That’s why I said it is so fantastic. The magical optical effect just like an invisibility cloak. I dream of making a flashlight with no affect anybody and only provide light for myself.

Wow, the camera red-dot sight. Why does it discontinued? That’s definitely a genius design :sob:

Not sure why. Olympus has the EE –1, which is cheaper but reportedly needs to be recalibrated more often. It’s still sold.

1 Thank

That’s impossible. Any light source that illuminates the environment will be visible for others. If you don’t want to emit light, you need a night-vision device and intensifies the remaining light.

1 Thank

The closest might be a night-vision device and an infrared illuminator (that isn’t LED-based), and hope nobody else has night-vision devices or IR-capable cameras.

Infrared LEDs emit just a tiny bit of visible light, enough that it can be seen by the naked eye. Especially if there is a reflector or TIR focusing it at you, so it has to be using a narrowband source such as a laser.

2 Thanks

Can also just filter the visible part out with an edge filter, same as ZWB2 filters on UV LEDs.

I have a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot sight on a rifle. It’s mostly just a gimmick, thought I’d try it out. It doesn’t really do anything useful for me, nothing I shoot at is that close range. Everytime I take it out of the safe the battery is dead. Looks neat though.

I don’t understand the “lumen baby” thing.

Me too, this is the dream.

1 Thank

If there is a lens that can turn visible light into invisible, and another lens can turn invisible light back into visible. Close to night-vision device but more powerful

Just called the red dot to “lumen baby”. Because it subverted my basic cognition. I like it

All budget red dots suffer parallax error, not sharp sight projection and so on.
If you can make real 1-2 MOA sharp dot and without parallax error I want one
If you can make not overpriced Trijicon clone I’m in.
See what parallax error is:

2 Thanks

That’s how old military night Vision tech worked. Strong infrared handheld lights, and goggles that turned IR to visible light.

Amazing knowledge! It’s a big challenge for us. The first goal of parallax error less than 3′
For the sweet deals, we will make it happened ; )

Yashica has a kickstarter for something like that:
