Which of the smaller aa,aaa, cr123(and possibly 18650 if its very compact) lights have a moonlight or firefly mode?
I’m looking for a new edc.

I like the Olight i3s
It’s really small (AAA), uses an XP-G2, has moonlight, and the only strobe mode is hidden. It’s a keychain light, so it might be a little smaller than you’re looking for.
For a AAA my favorite is the Olight i3S EOS.

I too am looking for a smaller aa/14500 or 18650 edc light that starts with moonlight mode, but don’t really like the twisty operation or the magnetic control ring.
Deep carry pocket clip would also be nice.
For AA/14500 the Zebralight SC52 is compact, great clip and can start in moonlight mode with a slow press instead of quick click.
The Thrunite Saber1a has mode memory so you can start in what ever mode you used last, I like it but I prefer the SBF L10 four modes with Nichia219. Perfect tint and always starts on lowlow (no mode memory) sbflashlight is also selling a clip that is compatable
If I can find a suitable, small 18650 forward clicky host and put in a Qlite driver “that has a 5mA low if 4th star is used” and slap a XP-G2 on copper in it, should be a nice pocket rocket once put together.
I almost picked up a sc52 up a few days ago but IS is backordered, must get one, hopefully in nw.
I just got my sc52 a couple of days ago. I’m not proficient enough with my timing to get the light on in moonlight mode. Sometimes I end up in high. I guess I’ll need more practice. Just mentioning this because if you miss-time your press then you will end up in high.
