SFT-25R vs KW CULPM1.TG in Convoy C8+. Which is overall better and why? 5 A or 8 A buck driver for both?

Have a nice time here, Pr-K!
Neither is better overall. SFT25R has nicer beam but will sag very quickly due to high Vf, never attaining 8A. CULPM gives a dirtier beam but doesn’t sag due to low Vf. Throw on full battery is probably around the same, but CULPM will throw more when battery is not full.

Here is a C8 with a CULPM1.TG driven by a 8A driver, it throws about a half mile with optimal conditions

Neither is noticeably better compared to the other one or neither is a good choice in this host? Part of me wants to go with SFT-40 3000 K. Reminds me of incandescent flashlights which I really like. But I understand that this may not be the most optimal choice.

So about 800 m in metric. This is very good from a still fairly compact flashlight. Any issues? From time to time I read about Convoy’s declining quality and I wonder if this is something I should be concerned of. I am happy with my M1 with SFT-40 I bought this year.
Neither emitter beats the other on all parameters, you need to decide what attributes you prioritize. Both are sensible emitters for the host.
The real benefit of the SFT25R is getting 5000K and 6500K, whereas the CULPM1 is only 5700K, at least that’s all Convoy stock.
