Convoy M1 build

I ordered a M1 host and a new mcpcb work emitters recently. I have a spare BLF A6 FET driver up be using to power the quad XP-L mcpcb that will be going into this light. Here’s the emitters going into this:

Has anyone here used a setup like this before? I ordered the 3V version to keep the single 18650 configuration in this host.

Have you made any progress? I was going to order a few of these to play with. What reflector or optic are you using/planning to use?

The host is very nice quality. I just recurved the parts last week and have not had a chance to build and test just yet. I’ll just be using the stock OP reflector, which I’ll have to open up and probably file down. I’ll certainly post an update once I get this together!

These are XPL, right?

In that case, you need an XHP70 type of reflector.

Otherwise, there are these MCPCBs you can order, in 3-12V variants:

If you use XP G2/G3, Samsung LH351B, Nichia 219C you will only need an XHP50 reflector.

If you use XPL, Samsung LH351D, XP L2, you will need an XHP70 reflector.

I have the 3V variant so I can just use a FET driver and single high current 18650.

This is fake xp-l

Not really.

He was speaking about the MCPCBs themselves.

Are there even fake xpl LEDs out there yet? Seems like they are still working on the “XML t6” clones…

I don’t really think so.

Thanks. I ordered a few boards to play with myself.

Curious to see how this goes. I’ve been interested in what something using these boards would look like as well as the beam shape/performance.
