Convoy M21B Stuck in Mode 1

Just received my shiny new M21B but can’t get it out of mode 1. I can get to the mode selection point and choose mode 2 but it doesn’t stick. Anyone else had this problem?

My only suggestion is make sure you wait for it to fully complete the 2 flashes before half-pressing to select group 2.

I have a ton of trouble changing modes with Convoy mechanical switches.
Now I try to only get Convoy lights with side e-switches. :upside_down_face:

I tried taking the tailcap off and doing it with a wire as it was easier than mashing the button but still didn’t work.

I bricked two Convoy 12 groups driver already and it become stucked in a random mode…it’s a very sensible piece of hardware. I probably overheated some component while soldering.
If you can’t change the mode, ask for a refund.

This happened to me once. Simon sent new one with another order.

Reeeaaalllyyy don’t need to be placing any more orders right now, but would almost feel bad asking Simon to send out a new driver/torch…

Well, up to you. Replacing not working driver seems normal to me. Asked only for driver, since I can replace it myself.

I think I have the skills to do that, so maybe that is what I will request.

Maybe this Video does help?

OK, hands up. I had a senior moment and was not operating the UI correctly. Thanks for all of your input and apologies for wasting your time!

May you enlighten us what you did wrong?
Might be useful for someone googling this problem!

I had forgotten that you have to choose the first option THEN select which mode you require. I was counting the buzz/flash things thinking that was the mode number. Kinda hard to explain! Anyway, I am now very much enjoying the full 20A goodness.
