Convoy M21K Review | Impressive TIR Thrower

I think this will be a pretty successful model. Ergonomic shape, built-in charging, efficient driver, and an LED that can really push out a ton of light (at a cost of a lot of heat). Plus, solid throw and an intuitive interface. With mindful operation, I think the M21K can be an amazing flashlight.

A nitpicking question: does the indicator on the switch start blinking when the battery voltage is really low (and how low?) and would you know what the LVP voltage is when the light quits? Cheers for the review!

At the end of the runtime the flashlight seems to step down to about 60-80lm (low mode, 1/4) and turn on the red switch light indicator, this happens at 3.160V on the cell. Flashlight in this state will step down to low mode (1/4) if in 3/4 or 4/4 mode, although you can force it to a higher mode when holding down the temporary turbo shortcut (2H).

After this it will continue shine for about 1.5h in low mode (1/4) when it will then fully turn off due to LVP. Sadly I do not know the final voltage.

Turbo mode is unique thought. It will either fully turn off, without this low mode period or it will ramp down to 0lm slowly (as visible in the graphs).

I updated the review.

I know that T6 does it at 2.8 V.

One more question - I’m a week away from getting it so I’m all excited! In the ‘Morse code’ mode (4C), is it 10 A turbo or 20 A super-turbo? I gathered from @Sirstinky’s review that it’s 20 A?

Nice review. This is relevant to my interests.
Any issues with customs letting batteries through?
I think I’m going to order one to the USA

Nice review, thanks. Much prefer to scroll and read than watch a video. Seeing the comparison beamshots I’m really pleased I went with the 5000K, the 6500K SBT90 makes the light a thrower and I really like the beam spread for night time dog walks.

Yeah, lockout is a PITA on this hot running light, can’t even crack the tailcap to isolate the emitter, 10 clicks is ridiculous. All in all though, a great light.

‘Grzybek’ sounds Polish and there no issues with batteries coming into the EU.

10A high mode

From what I understand, there’s no problem as long as the batteries are shipped inside the flashlight.

Awesome. Thanks.
I ordered the LHP73B 5000K with a Tenpower INR21700-50XG 5000mAh battery.
Looking forward to getting it!

Hey guys! Just received mine in “green camo” and it’s beautiful. I opened the head to check the LED and noticed there’s no o-ring on the head. Is that how it is supposed to be? Or am I missing one?

Mine seems to only have an o-ring between the glass and the bezel. No o-ring between the bezel and the head.

I wonder how waterproof this kind of a design is…

Oh yeah! I missed that because I didn’t want to touch the TIR to avoid prints. Thank you very much for the picture. But yeah, I don’t know if I trust it under rain. Going to put some extra grease on those thread just in case.

I’ve noticed it too. I applied thick silicone grease on the bezel/head threads, which I hope will be super good enough.

Thanks for the review.

Convoy has a lot of nice lights at a reasonable price. There’s only one thing, a very important thing to me, that I don’t like about them. I emailed Simon about it.He Is a very nice guy very helpful and informative.
Anyway , I was going to get one of his lights and I found out that all of them have a thermal step down set at 55C/131F. That’s too low for me. I want and I’m used to my hand determining when I turn down a light. I like high output and I’m used to modified lights or Anduril where you can set the thermal limit to 70Celsius/158F.Thrunite even has a few lights set at 80C/ 176F..TN42 and a few others…Stock

Nice! I have the 26800 version of this light ordered and on-the-way. The M26E is the same driver and optic but with a 26mm diameter tube that includes a 26800 extension by default.

I know 21700 is considered to be the best bet for long term support but I am hoping for better battery capacity and also, I bought several 26800s ahead so I have completely fresh yellow QB26800 cell ready to go for this.

I have an M26e on the way as well
