Wanna buy my first 18650 FL and i choose to buy Convoy S2+ but it is really a lot of them there.So i need help to choose the right one for me.Gonna buy it from fasttech.com so i need to choose it from there.

But then i saw that one https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10040443/7944212-convoy-s2-led-flashlight i like the color better but its not about how it looks.I see different switch tail cap and it has different light source model.So the question is should i pay more for the newer model (i think it is newer) or stick with first choise i made?

Don't buy from there! They are all 5/3 mode. You want the new one!

If you want to get another light, this one is better UI, I think the body is thinner and lighter, it feels cheaper for sure but not a problem in general

It is your call . I have 3 . I like the one similar to your second choice best only in neutral . If you aren’t in a hurry you can wait for a deal and pick them up for about $10 from the various affiliated links guys.

I think if he mods its not a bad idea, but if he doesn't he should just get one with a good UI first. I loved the build of the S2+ but the UI was awful. Every time you turned it on it had that annoying flash.

Unless you want a single frequency strobe, which Biscotti sadly lacks.

I have never heard of someone needing strobe at least here.

OP I am in the US so maybe it may not apply to you but what are you looking for?

I am reviewing a nitefox UT20, its a very nice light. It can be a great EDC, since it has onboard charging. If you are getting your first 18650 it could work for you!

The BLF A6 is a good start though to see what you want in a light. I chose neutral white but I wish I took warm white, but I had to try to know. Neutral is a good way to start.

Another option is the Jaxman ESL. They have nichia 219B, and its a bit more expensive but its a triple LED.

If I were you, I'd get the BLF A6 and see if you want another one or what that one lacks. It has everything you need to start, moonlight mode, great mode spacing, memory on/off (to save the mode you are on).

If you are strapped on a budget though, just wait for the S2 to go on sale. You also need a battery and charger if you don't already have 18650s.

I just got an On The Road U18 that I am digging right now. $24 with battery and USB charging.

Actually i have an extra 18650 (LG HG2) and 2 chargers (Nitecore SC4 and Miboxer C4 12) so i need just good budget flashlight itself.

If you don't mind modding, the S2 on sale at gearbest is usually the cheapest, but I would swap the LED and the driver. I would get an LED from here: http://www.kaidomain.com and probably get the BLF driver https://www.banggood.com/Astrolux-S1-BLF-A6-A17DD-L-FET-1-2_8-4_35v-7-4-Modes-Flashlight-Driver-p-1009980.html

The driver can be flashed if you want to go that route too. I don't know too much about that yet.

But really I think its best to get an A6 and go from there. ;)

If you want to go even cheaper, get an SK98 from eBay. They will all suck. You will not want to keep the body either I don't think. But you can try there if you want.

Definitely the A6 then. If you get Convoy from his store, you should ask for biscotti and a color tint you want. For runtime I think 3x or 4x chips will do. If you want to do 8x it will give you a little more light but a lot more heat. I started with 6x but I regretted it because i never used the high on it. If you use the 3x or 4x you will be able to use the high without burning yourself.

Or you can use a lower setting (5, 10, 20, 35) of the one with 8 chips and Biscotti driver and have the high lumens when needed.

I got the S2+ in my hand from fast tech, what is wrong with the UI? I have it set to max every time turning on. I got it only to use it on max most of the time. I think it was one of the best deal lumen / $ i could find without waiting for some deal to come around.

Got Convoy S2+ from FT today and i really like it.Made some tail cap upgrade with led switch.Can u guys look at this picture and tell me is it ok at all?
