Convoy S2+ not lighting up - how to fix?

So I just bought my third S2+ (1A this time) after giving away two 4C’s.
I also got a shorty tube and an 18350, got some gas for dedoming… had high hopes for it.

The problem is, it doesn’t work. It starts flickering only when I unscrew the head a bit and bend it, so the threads “bite” through the internal anodisation. That’s why I thought it’s the lack of contact between the middle tube’s front surface and the pill (marked red in the picture). Same effect while using the shorty tube.

Confirmed by unscrewing the pill ~3mm before screwing on the head - works perfectly then (OK, except for the rattling glass

Question is - what is wrong and can I fix it myself? Or do I get it back to Banggood?

Can’t compare with a good light, as I can’t get my hands on them right now…

Is there an oring in front of the glass?

It’s there.

3mm is a big gap ! Maybe the pille is the short one from the old S2 ?
Can you unscrew it totally and show us ?

Your tube is backwards. The unanodized threads need to go to the head, with the anodized threads on the switch side.

yep spotted that one too. turning the tube around should fix your problem

I had one intermittent like that (bought via a discounter, not direct from Convoy) and fixed the problem by putting a bigger and longer spring on the driver.

nevermind (grin).

Backwards tube obvious now that I look, I just didn’t see that.

Oh wow. Now you made me look silly :shy:

Thanks for help, works perfect!

So… where did I put that gas canister…

I feel dumb now, thank guys

Oops. Just be glad it was just that!
