@Simon_Mao Could you please offer the 3x21D without LED? (Host, driver, MCPCB, but no LED)
SFT-25R possible in S16?
Ok, I updated the options.
3X21D
I did some googling but it’s rare to find the driver dimensions for each convoy light- I’d like a compact B35am light, looking at the 17mm boost driver.
What’s the smallest diameter host that will take this driver will fit? Do I have to suck up a 18650 format and go with S2+? Would the T4 take a 17mm driver? I guess LVP on 2xNiMh would be a problem so would have to get one of those 14100 cells.
I assume the other T series take smaller diameter drivers but I’d really like a 14500 format if possible!
It can be installed in L21B, But its brightness is relatively low. Max input current is only 3amps
i may use 1.5A driver instead of 5A driver if installing the 219 in T6.
The T7 problem has been solved, but they need to be tested in batches.
Ok, I have updated the options.
S16
Yes, at present, the smallest one is S2 + for B35AM .
How about S2+ 18350 with B35AM
My observation about the lighted switch and the 8A 3V buck driver: it works, just not with a fully charged high drain battery (which makes it quite confusing).
From my reddit post:
I’m encountering a similar issue with the S6 SFT-40 when using a lighted switch, paired with an 8A buck driver and a fully charged high-drain battery (Vapcell M11v2). In this setup, the main emitter gets stuck in low mode, periodically blinking.
A standard non-lighted switch doesn’t cause this issue, even when all other components remain the same. Likewise, using a lighted switch with a 5A buck driver works fine, as does a lighted switch with an 8A buck and fully charged low-drain battery. Even the high-drain M11v2 battery, once slightly discharged (below 4.1V), operates without any problems.
It seems the issue specifically arises from using a lighted switch together with high current.
I’m able to replicate the issue with the 18650 tube and the Molicel P28A battery.
B35AM with beaded TIR in S2 18350 is awesome. One of my favorite lights.
Not advised in a T3. You can fit a 17mm driver but it’s a tight fit and the spring is rather long. More importantly, the T3 doesn’t have space to fit the MCPCB. The only option is to either trim the MCPCB or grind away and make space for the MCPCB. I made one and was very ill equipped to do the mods.
It might be possible to do it in a T6. Off the top of my head, the driver spring needs to be shorter. I also don’t know how the B35AM beam looks with the deeper reflector but I heard it wasn’t great with the S6 reflector.
A 6V dual fuel driver for B35AM in T2/3/5 would be cool. Since it is a 6V led, no buck-boost is needed, boost only. Similar to D3AA (which uses the same monolithic power chip most of your other boost drivers use).
Kaidomain has them on 16mm MCPCB, I had assumed this would fit, possibly with a little filing?
Life been busy so a while since I last modded anything.
With a lot of filing… Again, not advised. It was a pain in the ass. I made a post of this on the flashlight subreddit. It showcases my horrible handiwork. It’s nice but I had to grind, shave, and tweak so many things.
I also would love to have a T3 with the B35AM.
Then this is a bug imho. This should be fixed.
@Simon_Mao thanks for your response. Are you able to send me the missing AR glasses with the next order? Thank you.
@Simon_Mao I hope it is OK to write you while you are still in holiday?
I just received the Emisar DA1K with a 5700K 90CRI XHP50.3 Hi and I frickin love the tint and quality of the emitted light.
Is there any possibility for you to get this LED in 3V?
Hi Simon. Could you possibly offer the M21E as host only? Thanks!
Assume you’re Fuyumine_Yuki, found your pink T3 B35am mod, that’s a great job!
I’ll contemplate for a bit… last “fun” light I built was 365mn UV SP10 Pro, so itching to do something new…
5000k. I built a quad s21a with them and under a 10621 optic throws really good and the tint is less green than 6400k
