It’s okay, thank you! I knew I could count on your support if needed, but it will get my custom driver anyway

Does anyone else have issues with the screw-on clip loosening in the pocket? I have this happen a lot with some lights and when I try to re-tighten the screws they end up stripping.

1 Thank

I only have one light with those but have not had an issue yet. I put some blue loctite on them at installation.

Seems like a annoying extra step that I do not want to buy and wait for, but luckily digging through my parts bin I found this friction clip that manages to fit the light that had lost its screw clip, even if a tight fit.

1 Thank

It seems like the threads on the screws were damaged. You might have over tightened the screws.

Need some help - Is the retaining ring inside the tailcap reverse threaded? I want to change the button but the ring is too tight and I dont want to strip the holes.

It depends on your flashlight. For example, S2+ uses reversed threads, T3 has normal ones.

Oh didnt know that, I am asking for the S8 and S6

S6 is reverse-threaded, twist clockwise to unscrew. I don’t have S8, but it should be the same.

2 Thanks

You will need some better quality fasteners. I suggest some from Amazon, search for M2-0.4 x 6mm cap screws.

Is the EVE 50PL going to be restocked? I noticed it’s gone as an option now.

I noticed too, must be very popular

I went back to try the screw-on clip woth mt M21B because the friction clip has too narrow a deep-carry channel to slide over my jeans and I noticed two things.

First, installing the screw-on clips is a nightmare on the M21B because the space between the button and the guards is so large the nut falls over in it, and also the holes are drilled so large that it also loves falling theough them after it has fallen on its side. Getting it to stay in place while threading the screw through the clip and lanyard holes is a very annoying and clumsy task.

And secondly, once I had it threaded on, I noticed that the clip sat right on the corner of the branding recess on the battery tube, so that only one corner of it was making contact, like so

I believe this uneven contact was causing the clip to rock itself loose and weaken the threading in the process, but luckily the battery tube on the M21B is reversible and the other way around lands the clip right on plain, level surface.

So, problem solved for now, only time can tell if this clip will hold longterm.

I really like the screw-on clip but the attachment system leaves a lot to be desired. I wish that Convoy would give us a pair of threaded holes in the tailcap for attachment. I’d even be happy with a pair of unthreaded holes that I could thread myself.
