How does Simon’s 9050 70.3 HI compare to the 70CRI versions? Does anyone know what bins they are? How are they for tint shift? I assume the output is slightly less.

Simon gives the flux bins in the listing and the chromaticity regions for the 70CRI version, and I believe the 90 CRI are 3-Step “Easywhite”.
For example the 4000K 70 CRI has a N4 flux bin and 5D chromaticity region, compared to the 90CRI that has a K4 flux bin. According to the datasheet that equates to 540 less lumens at the test current, which is nearly a 30% decrease.
3-step means it’s a bit randon altough I’ve yet to hear someone compaining about the tint. Quite the opposite actually as everyone seems to like it.
I have Opple tested Simon’s 90cri ones. 1 sample for each CCT
3000K K2 30G: duv 0.0008
4000K K4 40G: duv 0.0012
5000K M2 50G: duv 0.0022
All tested with 0,5A current in KR1 reflector without AR coating and about 1.5m away.

Did you notice much tint-shift?
I have a 5000k from convoy, those opple measurements above look a little higher than what I see, mine is pretty much spot on zero. Almost no tint shift, until you shine a Nichia next to it. Then there’s a ton of shift lol. But nothing like the xhp50s. On its own it looks pretty damn good. Good tint. If I had to complain I’d say i think the reflow could’ve been a little better. Just several little solder balls around the emitter. If I wanted little solder balls in the way I could’ve just reflowed it myself lol
Isn’t Cree 3-step really more like 5-step? When I see EasyWhite I assume its EasyGreen instead.
70.3 Hi’s don’t have much of a tint shift.
50G measurement and beam looks pretty same as all the other 50G’s I’ve measured. 30G and 40G are better than average based on my tests. But these are just single leds from a reel of 1000. 3-step can vary from led to led.
