In SS yes, I haven’t seen a Brass one though:
I just scoured the site and didn’t see this! You came to the rescue once again. Thanks!
Is the SFT42R the LED to get for the S21 brass?
It depends what you want.
That’s a great throw emitter for sure. I got my S21E with the LHP531 and am very pleased with my choice. Such a great emitter.
How is that also throw/flood combination?
The LHP531 is good thrower/flood combo with the S21E reflector.
I’m probably going to get a S21E with the 5000K LHP531. How is the tint on it? Any thoughts on which driver to get?
Based on similar LHP73B I’d say it’s pure snow white with zero warmth.
It’s not a thrower in the slightest, It has a large flat hotspot. Maybe now with the 10A driver (30W) it’s going to outthrow XHP50.3 HI at 18W with brute force. If you want throw with high brightness SFT-42R or F45R are better choices.

Right: Convoy Anduril 1 driver, OP reflector, Samsung 50S
In the second picture you’re further away and the beam looks more concentrated…
Sencond picture is wider angle camera
it looks like auto settings + different perspective? @Toaster79 do you lock your exposure settings?
Because in the second picture the reflector one looks way more concentrated than I remember.
Both pics are shot from the same spot on my balcony. It would be kind of hard to move the darn balcony around, wouldn’t it?
Thanks to all for the images/info!.
but not impossible ![]()
@phantom23 it looks similar to the photo effect where a massive object in a backdrop apparently grows or shrinks because of perspective to the subject in the foreground…Also 1/7s vs 1/8, evident with the brighter deck lighting, and perhaps even a higher contrast.
The different sensor size and aperture size makes a way larger difference than that comparatively small difference in exposure time.
Exactly! And nobody managed to notice the huge difference in ISO ![]()
